"It's a clinical finish from Gary Cahill. It's given Chelsea hope they can still go on and win this game. It was character which made them champions - all of sudden it's West Ham on the back foot now."

    Gary Cahill (55 mins)

Amazing. Chelsea respond to this latest adversity in stunning style - Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill both leap in the box to get on the end of a corner and the ball drops for Cahill to leather it past Adrian.

Absolutely no reaction from Jose Mourinho in the stands.

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

It is West Ham who have seen more of the ball since the break and they also look more like scoring. Aaron Cresswell has just fired a dangerous ball across the face of goal that Diafra Sakho could not get on the end of.

With Jose Mourinho in the stands and Nemanja Matic back in the dressing room, it is fair to say it is a big ask for Chelsea's 10 men to get something from here.

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

This graphic shows the average position of touches by Chelsea players before the break. They will have to do without number 21, Nemanja Matic, in the second half, and try to find an equaliser too.

We could be in for a very open game...

Correction: it was Chelsea's assistant first team coach Silvino Louro, not Christophe Lollichon, who was sent to the stands.

"It's been a fascinating first half. Chelsea need to calm down at half-time. They have an uphill task in the second half, one goal down and one man down."

  20. Matic red cardpublished at 15:51

    West Ham 1-0 Chelsea

Nemanja Matic's first booking was for a foul on Cheikhou Kouyat after 35 minutes. His second was for a foul on Diafra Sakho after 44 minutes. Not his finest nine minutes for Chelsea, then.
