Congratulations to Liverpool fans Steve and Karen Edwards who are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

We received this text (we suspect with a little help) from their granddaughter Poppy, aged 10 months: "My grandparents, Steve and Karen Edwards, have walked through the wind and the rain to be at Anfield today to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. A 4-0 win for Liverpool would round off the celebrations nicely please!"

Liverpool are working some intricate play in the final third which boss Jurgen Klopp likes the look of from the touchline.

Roberto Firmino's reverse pass can't find a team-mate and a Swansea defender is able to get his foot in.

Inches away from an opening. Midfielder Emre Can floats a beautiful ball over the head of Swansea centre-back Ashley Williams and Liverpool striker Christian Benteke is on the charge into the box.

The Belgian can't get the ball out of his feet and full-back Kyle Naughton can nick the ball away.

Not seen much of Liverpool's expensive summer acquisition Roberto Firmino so far. The Brazilian playmaker showed signs of his brilliance against Manchester City last weekend, by far his best game for the club.

With Philippe Coutinho out injured, the onus is on him today to take control of the game, but he hasn't managed to do that yet.

Liverpool patiently trying to work an opening.

Big Swansea front man Eder is in the action for the first time. He's in the Didier Drogba mould of striker, big and bustly. He gets his head on the end of  Kyle Naughton cross but can't find the target.

Encouragement for Garry Monk, whose side have won just once since August.

Liverpool win the ball back from Swansea courtesy of a James Milner tackle and they quickly break.

Winger Jordon Ibe with a direct run into the Swansea penalty area and mis-controls it, as Swans defender Kyle Bartley slides in and sees the ball ricochet back off the post. A lucky escape for the visitors.

Swansea getting their foot on the ball for the first time, working the ball from a tight situation in their half, ending up with a cross from full-back Kyle Naughton in the other.

A wayward ball into the Liverpool box comes to nothing. Garry Monk's side getting into the groove.

    Alistair Mann
BBC Match of the Day commentator

"Last week's stunning performance at the Etihad Stadium bore all the hallmarks of the Jürgen Klopp philosophy.

"Manchester City simply couldn't cope with Liverpool's high-energy pressing, which hurried the then-league leaders into a series of errors as they were swept away by a magnificent first-half display.

"With Swansea's confidence low and their need to arrest a worrying slide increasing, it's likely they'll be set up with solidity in mind rather than exuberance.

"The challenge, therefore, for Liverpool is to maintain their energetic commitment but ally it to a creative edge - if they can, you would begin to fear for their ailing opponents."

There is a minute's applause before kick-off in the memory of former Liverpool and England defender Gerry Byrne who passed away on Saturday.

Their former left-back made 333 appearances for the club and played the 1965 FA Cup final against Leeds with a broken collarbone.

There are three certainties in life: death, taxes and Daniel Sturridge getting injured.

The Liverpool striker is stricken once again, this time with a foot injury which mean he had to withdraw shortly before the Reds' Europa League win over Bordeaux on Thursday.

Is boss Jurgen Kloppsuggesting the need for the Englishmanto toughen up?

Kloppo said: "Your body has to learn to adapt to new intensities of training and in this time you have to learn what is serious pain and what is only pain."

Liverpool v Swansea City (16:15 GMT)

As ever, BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson has been having his say on this weekend's fixtures - and he's gone for a win for his old team in this one.

Lawro says: "Liverpool have got momentum at the moment, which is a massive thing in football. There is suddenly competition for places all over the team - even up front - and they are starting to look stronger in all areas."

But he does have some words of encouragement for Swansea. He says: "Swansea manager Garry Monk's future is still in doubt, which I don't really understand. Yes, they might be having a difficult season but they are not going to get relegated."

Talking of former employees, Jonjo Shelvey spent three seasons at Anfield making 70 appearances for the club, but a load of those came off the bench.

The England midfielder decided his time was over and he moved on to Swansea.

Since then, he has started to show his true potential, becoming a mainstay in the middle of the park with his wide range of passing ability and chipping in with goals.

He also likes to get stuck into a challenge, which has cost him today, as Shelvey misses the game for picking up five bookings this season.
