  1. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 3-0 Levantepublished at 61 mins

    Lionel Messi (61 mins)

No mistake from Lionel Messi, who hammers his penalty into the roof of the net.

Levante are in big trouble now. They have lost this game. All that needs to be decided is by how many. If the away side don't maintain their discipline they could be torn apart.

  2. PENALTYpublished at 61 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Neymar is fouled in the box by a lunging challenge from Angel Trujillo and the referee points to the spot, much to the fury of the away side.

  3. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 2-0 Levantepublished at 56 mins

    Neymar (56 mins)

The floodgates are edging open. Dani Alves cross from the right falls to Neymar, whose first shot is blocked but follow-up effort trickles through bodies and into the net.

I would suggest that is game over.

    Barcelona 1-0 Levante

Levante come forward in search of that goal and win a corner through as superb block from Marc Bartra - earning his corn at both ends of the pitch - but Barca clear the set-piece with ease.

    Barcelona 1-0 Levante

Almost 2-0 as Neymar pokes a shot just past the far post. It is a very different game now for Levante. They need to score but they don't want to be ripped apart as they have so many times at this ground.

  6. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 1-0 Levantepublished at 49 mins

    Marc Bartra (49 mins)

There it is. The breakthrough is made by Barcelona. Marc Bartra is still forward following an attack and is rewarded for taking a gamble as Neymar's cross from the right is chested down and then poked in at the near post by the defender.

He celebrates his third La Liga goal by holding up the shirt of Rafinha, who is injured and out for the season. Nice touch.

    Will the floodgates open now?

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

As you were. Barca immediately on the attack but again the final ball is poor and Levante are back in numbers to crowd the home side out, clear and reform to repel another attack.

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

No goals so far, but we are back under way with 45 more minutes left to find some.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:26

    Porto 0-0 Benfica

In case you were not aware it's the big one the the Portuguese Primeira Liga at the Estadio do Dragao where leaders Porto face rivals Benfica.

It's goalless at half-time but it's an intense contest with former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas much the busier in the Porto goal.

Casillas made a fine save from Luisao from a corner while Kostas Mitroglou has also gone close. Miguel Layun's long-range effort is the best that Porto have mustered so far.

Adam Byrne:  Barcelona always score a hatful vs. Levante at the Nou Camp but the one time I watch the match live - it's 0-0 at halftime!

John McEnerney: The FCB back four are there for the taking. A few high balls in to them and Levante may nick a goal. Need pressure on the deck & in the air.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

A very disappointing first half, unless you are a Levante fan. Barca have dominated possession but have done little with the ball. Lionel Messi has had six of the home side's nine chances but hasn't been able to make the breakthrough.

Murmurs of discontent fill the Nou Camp as the players depart. If Barca are to make the breakthrough most expect them to they will need to be sharper and more clinical.

The job is simple for Levante in the second half: more of the same.

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

Here comes Messi... over the bar. The second time the Argentine has curled an effort just over. It will be the last act of the first half.

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

Trouble now for Levante. They give the ball away to Lionel Messi on the edge of the box and Verza is booked for dragging him back to concede a dangerous free-kick...

  14. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

You know it is not clicking for Barca when Lionel Messi over-hits a pass straight out of play. He tries to find Dani Alves down the right but succeeds only in conceding a goal-kick, prompting cried of frustration from the crowd.

The home side have had 73% possession so far, but have nothing to show for it.

  15. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

The Barca players queue up to have a pop on the edge of the box, but when Neymar does finally decide to try his luck it is blocked by Juanfran, in his 39th year and the current oldest outfield player in La Liga.

Soon after, Dani Alves' cross is headed over by Lionel Messi. Great leap, poor header.

  16. CLOSE!published at 37 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

Levante cannot switch off, though. Lionel Messi's strike is palmed away by Ruben but Sandro cannot control the follow-up and puts his effort from inside the box wide.

  17. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

Levante are close to getting in again as Roger Marti charges forward and battles to the edge of the box, but his final pass (that would have given Nabil Ghilas just the keeper to beat) is cut out.

The away side fancy this now. They've earned the right to be a bit more ambitious.

  18. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

Levante can also feel a bit hard done by. Twice they have been pulled up for offside by the officials, with replays showing the attacking player had timed his run to perfection.

  19. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

Luis Enrique is prowling his technical area, arms folded, concern growing. The longer this remains goalless, the more Levante will grow in belief of nicking a famous first win at the Nou Camp.

You can already see signs of ambition from the men in yellow as the full-backs edge into Barca territory for the first time.

If Barca aren't careful, they could easily get caught on the break.

  20. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Levante

Ivan Rakitic crosses from the right, Marc Bartra meets it but gets under the header and puts it well over the bar.

    Barca remain frustrated.
