However the Northern Premier League side were knocked out at the first attempt this season, as they were beaten 2-1 in the first qualifying round by North East neighbours Spennymoor Town.
Stoke 2-0 Man City
It's all over at the Britannia Stadium where Stoke have pulled off a surprise 2-0 win against Manchester City. Marko Arnautovic bagged both of the goals within the first 15 minutes to send the Potters up to ninth in the Premier League table.

Stourbridge v Eastleigh (15:00 GMT)
In the world of semi-professional football, it is not unusual for team managers to have second jobs.
Eastleigh boss Chris Todd, a former Swansea, Torquay and Exeter defender, changed his life around in 2008 after being diagnosed with leukaemia, trying a number of different opportunities.
You can read more on his incredible life inAdam Williams' pieceon the 34-year-old who became boss in October.
Stourbridge v Eastleigh (15:00 GMT)
Whatever happens in the second-round, non-league football will have some representation.
Hampshire-based Eastleigh were playing in the eighth-tier Wessex League back in 2003 but reached the National League for the first time in their history last campaign, finishing fourth but losing in the play-off semi-finals to Grimsby.
The semi-professional side, with the superb nickname of 'the Spitfires', have not got second season syndrome either as they sit fifth so far this season.
Portsmouth v Accrington Stanley (15:00 GMT)
It's just seven years since Sol Campbell lifted the FA Cup as Portsmouth beat Cardiff at Wembley.
Since then it's been a slide down the football pyramid for Pompey but they're well set in League Two this season, sitting fifth.
They face a team above them at Fratton Park this afternoon in Accrington who have won five of their last six.
Yeovil v Stevenage (15:00 GMT)
Yeovil: Weale, Smith, Dolan, Sokolik, Bird, Jeffers, Dickson, Cornick, Roberts, Ward, Sheehan
Stevenage: Day, Henry, Franks, Wells, Ogilvie, Cox, Tonge, Whelpdale, Pett, Kennedy, Gnanduillet
Northampton v Northwich Victoria (15:00 GMT)
Northwich Victoria are certainly a team used to winning.
They sit top of the Northern Premier League Division One North having won 16 of their 17 games this season.
The Vics beat National League side Boreham Wood 2-1 in a replay to progress to round two and Jim Gannon's side will fancy themselves even travelling to a League Two side.
Sheffield United v Oldham Athletic (15:00 GMT)
A run in the cup can translate into some improved form in the league and Sheffield United and Oldham will hope that will be the case.
In this all League One encounter, the Blades currently sit 12th after Nigel Adkins replaced Nigel Clough in the summer when they missed out on promotion through the play-offs for the third time in four seasons.
Oldham's player-manger David Dunn took over after Darren Kelly was sacked after seven games this term but they are occupying the final relegation place at the moment.
No three points today but a big 'W' could be just what is needed.
