When an FA Cup weekend comes around you can be sure the phrase 'football pyramid' won't be too far behind.

The biggest league difference between any teams over this weekend is Bradford sitting 104 places above Chesham United, which takes place on Sunday. Here are the biggest gaps for the rest of the games...

    • Northampton v Northwich Victoria (92 places)
    • Stourbridge v Eastleigh (50 places)
    • Colchester v Altrincham (46 places)

It's the tale of two caretaker bosses at the Proact Stadium.

Dean Saunders was sacked as Chesterfield boss in midweek so Mark Smith takes charge of the Spireites while John Ward will be picking the Walsall side following Dean Smith's move to Brentford.

    Time to impress the chairman...

After they started the season with five straight wins, Leyton Orient began slipping down the League Two table. The club owner Francesco Becchetti decided to take action by making players and coaching staff stay in a hotel... has it worked? Well they're unbeaten in three games since!

Scunthorpe come into the match having lost three games in a row since they beat Southend in the first round.

  5. Back at Burtonpublished at 13:49

Following Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's move to become Queens Park Rangers manager it looks as if Burton have turned to a familiar face.

They were certainly a friendly bunch at Stourbridge FC! Will the supporters have something else to get excited about later this afternoon? Kick-off is just over an hour away.

  7. A windy picture...published at 13:45

The weather is certainly going to make things a bit tricky today.

  8. Life without Sturrockpublished at 13:41

    Yeovil v Stevenage (15:00 GMT)

Today's FA Cup tie against Stevenage is probably a welcome distraction for Yeovil supporters after what has been a difficult week at Huish Park.

Manager Paul Sturrockleft the club, who are bottom of League Two, on Tuesday and facing a third successive relegation.

Teddy Sheringham's Stevenage have found a bit of form in recent weeks, including a 3-0 win over Gillingham in the first round, so it will be another tough test for the Glovers.

Millwall have built something of an FA Cup pedigree over the last decade or so.

Finalists in 2004 while in the Championship, they came up against a Manchester United side boasting the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs and lost 3-0.

Then, in 2013, they reached the competition's semi-final but were defeated by eventual winners Wigan.

Today, it's League Two Wycombe Wanderers who stand between them and another chance of a cup run.

    Barnet v Newport (15:00 GMT)

The all League Two encounter between Barnet and Newport might not be that tastiest fixture for the neutrals, but is is the first ever meeting between these sides.

The Bees then face the Exiles again on Boxing Day in the league.

  14. Takeover troubles sortedpublished at 13:20

Northampton v Northwich Victoria (15:00 GMT)

It has been rumbling on for months, but finally Northampton's takeover was completed nine days ago when former Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas dotted the I's and crossed the T's to buy the club from David Cardoza.

That wiped off £166,000 owed to HM Revenue & Customs and the players finally received their wages for October and November,

Not that these off-field issues have affected Chris Wilder's side - they've won their last five games in a row and sit third in League Two.

  18. Salford City in the hat for the third roundpublished at 13:03

    Salford City 1 - 1 Hartlepool United

So, let's have a quick look at what happened in last night's FA Cup second round opener.

Salford City's dream run in the competition will continue as they fought back to earn a replay against League Two side Hartlepool United, thanks to Stephen O'Halloran's equaliser.

Seventh-tier Salford, co-owned by five ex-Manchester United players, went a goal down after eight minutes when Rhys Oates scored from the spot after he was fouled by Andrew Dawson.

But the hosts, who are 52 places below Hartlepool in the football pyramid, earned a replay at Victoria Park when O'Halloran tapped the ball home from close range.
