An early goal from Jamie Cureton for Dagenham and Redbridge is all that separates the two sides.
Despite dominating the early passages of the match, the hosts were holding on at the end as Whitehawk - lead by former Peterborough midfielder Sergio Torres - fought back and were unlucky not to be level at the break as Arnaud Mendy was somewhat harshly adjudged offside.
