I feel Bury were on top for the first 25 minutes. Rochdale didn't learn their lessons on defending corners. Although Dale were on top for the last 10 minutes the real class in the game has come from Danny Rose and Chris Hussey.

The whistle goes at the end of what has been an entertaining first half at Spotland.

Danny Rose put Bury ahead with a fine header inside the opening 10 minutes.

Peter Clarke also had a goal ruled out for the Shakers.

However, Rochdale finished the half the stronger side and their fans will be hoping for more of the same after the break.

Rochdale are right on the edge of scoring here. Bury have to just see this through to half time.

  8. Rochdale 0-1 Burypublished at 45 + 1 mins

It's all Rochdale now. The ball pinballs around the box and goes behind for a corner.

However it comes to nothing and Bury have just a couple more minutes to hold on for half time.

  9. Rochdale 0-1 Burypublished at 43 mins

That's a much better effort from Ian Henderson.

The Rochdale striker turns inside Craig Jones in the area and tries to place a shot into the top corner, but it's too close to Daniel Bachmann who palms the ball away.

Dale finishing this first half the much better side.

Bury were three on one there, Lancashire really had no other choice but to make that challenge and take the card.

  11. Rochdale 0-1 Burypublished at 41 mins

Oh, Ian Henderson has to do better there for Rochdale.

The ball bounces to him inside the area but he can only poke the ball over from six yards out while unmarked.

    Good chance for the hosts.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 39 mins

    Rochdale 0-1 Bury

I said earlier there were a few reckless challenges flying in and it continues.

Rochdale's Olly Lancashire slides in on Danny Pugh and is the fourth man to go into the book.

    Feisty is an understatement.

  13. The King's menpublished at 12:42

Dag and Red v Whitehawk (14:00 GMT)

Whitehawk manager Steve King guided non-league Macclesfield Town to round four just three seasons ago, can he inspire another upset today?

  14. Rochdale 0-1 Burypublished at 38 mins

Peter Clarke did absolutely nothing wrong in the lead up to that disallowed goal for Bury.

The referee may have blown for a nudge by Nathan Cameron on Callum Camps, but there didn't appear to be a lot in it.

This is the 35th match I have watched this season and I've not seen a better left foot delivery. I've watched international matches to League Two matches and no-one consistently crosses as well as Chris Hussey.

  16. DISALLOWED GOAL FOR BURYpublished at 35 mins

    Rochdale 0-1 Bury

Chris Hussey sends in another fine corner and Peter Clarke powers a header into the back of the net.

However the whistle had already gone for pushing and shoving in the box.

That looked a little bit harsh.

  17. Six in a row?published at 12:38

    Peterborough v Luton (14:00 GMT)

Peterborough are searching for their sixth straight win in all competitions and their record in the second round suggests they'll do just that.

Posh have progressed from 12 of their last 13 second round ties, although they were knocked out at this stage last year by Colchester.

Former runners-up Luton beat Crawley in the first round and have reached round three in two of the last three seasons.

I think Rochdale are stuck in this game, Bury are doing a great job of smothering them.

  19. Rochdale 0-1 Burypublished at 33 mins

That pretty much sums up Rochdale's first half so far.

James Hooper pulls the ball back to Donal McDermott on the edge of the box who sends his shot high, wide and handsome.

Keith Hill looks a frustrated man on the touchline.

  20. Rochdale 0-1 Burypublished at 31 mins

The game has gone a bit scrappy with a few reckless challenges flying in.

Rochdale haven't really got going in this first 30 minutes, but they'll have to find some inspiration from somewhere after Danny Rose's early goal for the Shakers.
