Marco van Ginkel is inches away from poking it home for Stoke after a perfect ball in from Ibrahim Afellay on the right.

Unfortunately Van Ginkel catches Adrian where it hurts and the West Ham keeper needs a few quiet minutes to recover. Ouch.

West Ham are building pressure and win the first corner of the game. Mauro Zarate curls it in, aiming it at Andy Carroll, but it's cleared.

Stoke bomb up field in their first real attack and Marco van Ginkel shows some real pace, but James Collins clears.

Cheikhou Kouyate and Michail Antonio both have decent shots from distance for the hosts but both are saved by big Jack Butland. 

And we're off. There's still bubbles all over the pitch, mind.

While Stoke have enjoyed a week of contentment after their 2-0 win over Manchester City last weekend, it's been a difficult one for hosts West Ham.

The Hammers put on a fantastic display to secure a 0-0 draw with Manchester United, but Winston Reid and Victor Moses have joined Dimitri Payet, Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini on the sidelines.

Time will tell if they'll cope without their key men.

West Ham are forced to make two changes with Winston Reid and Victor Moses out injured. James Collins and Michail Antonio come into the starting line-up. 

A big blow for Stoke as Xherdan Shaqiri misses out, reportedly through illness, and is replaced by Marco van Ginkel in midfield.

Only one point separates the two sides, but West Ham sit eighth while Stoke are 11th in a congested mid-table.

The Hammers have gone five league matches without a win, having previously gone on a seven game unbeaten run. 

Stoke have taken 10 points from their last five games and they have kept six clean sheets in their last eight Premier League games.
