Chelsea 2-0 Sunderland
Chelsea are absolutely bossing these opening stages and are now deservedly 2-0 up. Branislav Ivanovic is this time the provider, firing the ball into the box and Pedro pounces, lashing the ball into the roof of the net.
The players zone in on Pedro to celebrate, but still Jose Mourinho's name is chanted in the stands.
Pedro
Chelsea 1-0 Sunderland
It looks like the referee has forgotten his magic spray as Chelsea win a free-kick, 25 yards from goal. He goes to his pocket to grasp it, before nonchalantly blowing his whistle to allow the free-kick to be taken when he realises he hasn't got it. Willian takes it, lifting the ball over the wall but into the hands of Costel Pantilimon.

"It's a superb header. Branislav Ivanovic has done brilliantly to generate that much power."

"It's interesting that Hiddink is watching on with Drogba sitting next to him. But that is a great corner, and how often have we seen the likes of Ivanovic score crucial goals for Chelsea? He's done it again."
Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer
"Branislav Ivanovic heads Chelsea in front - but almost as soon as the ball hits the back of the net the chants for Jose Mourinho start up again."
Chelsea 1-0 Sunderland
Branislav Ivanovic's name was one of those that were booed in the build-up, but he is being cheered now as the defender gives Chelsea the lead, powering home a header from Willian's corner.
Just the start Blues owner Roman Abramovich will have wanted after a testing few days.
Branislav Ivanovic
Chelsea 0-0 Sunderland
It is easy to forget there are two teams playing, such has been the focus on Chelsea., and it is clear that Sunderland want to pile more misery on the Blues fans. The Black Cats have started well, swiftly closing down the Chelsea player in possession, but no chances of note yet.

BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge
No question where the sympathies of Chelsea's fans lie here. Costa & Fabregas got another going over when their names were read out again.
And a look at some of the banners also tell the tale of support for Jose Mourinho, reading: "You Let Jose Down You Let Us Down."
Others read "Our Jose. Sacrificed. Why?" and "The Three Rats - Hazard, Cesc and Costa."
In contrast Willian, who has been superb this season, received a rapturous reception. Mourinho's name chanted loudly.

The whistle goes and Chelsea get things up and running.

Jose Mourinho's name is being chanted around Stamford Bridge as the players emerge from the tunnel, prompting more fans to hold up banners accusing them of letting Mourinho down.
Guus Hiddink is in attendance, taking his seat next to Didier Drogba and Roman Abramovich as kick off approaches.

The names of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa were met with very loud jeering when they were just read out at Stamford Bridge.
The message from Chelsea's fans is clear - they believe two men pivotal to last season's title win were instrumental in Jose Mourinho's downfall.
The name of Willian, in contrast, received loud cheers.
Tasty.

The fans are certainly making it known whose side they are on, and it is not the players' side.

There is a banner draped over the Matthew Harding Stand here at Stamford Bridge emblazoned with the words "Jose Mourinho - Simply The Best".
And make no mistake, despite his second departure from Chelsea there will be plenty among the suppporters here at Stamford Bridge today who still think exactly that.

Chelsea captain in the tunnel at Stamford Bridge: "The players remain responsible. Our performances and league position are not good enough, and we're accountable for that. We need to start winning football matches.
"It's been tough for the fans - we know how much they loved the manager. But if we get three points today we'll be back on track and back to winning ways."
Trevor Sinclair
Former England winger on Football Focus
"Chelsea's stars should be embarrassed. Mourinho is a great manager with a great record of winning trophies. But he's just been sacked, and if you're one of the players in the squad who has not been performing for him, then that is simply unacceptable. There has to be pride in the badge."
BBC Sport's prediction overlord Mark Lawrenson reckons this game is going to be 2-0 to Chelsea.
