"While, clearly, Tony Pulis incurred the wrath of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for West Brom's reliance on 'long balls' last Sunday, the Baggies' manager is rightly concentrating on his primary task - keeping the club in the Premier League.

"I wonder if he looks on with a little envy at the contrast in views displayed towards Eddie Howe. I never hear a word of criticism about the Bournemouth boss who clearly decided promotion wasn't an excuse to ditch the attractive principles underlying their football.

"Whether in defeat or, recently, in those victories at Chelsea and against Manchester United, the Cherries are a joy to watch. Is it conceivable, in this 'daft' season, they can win a third consecutive game?"

Did you know that Eddie Howe was a schoolboy apprentice when Tony Pulis managed the Cherries back in that golden year that was 1992?

    Well, he did.

    Here's Howe on Pulis:

"I remember my first pre-season here coming out of school at 16 when Tony was manager, and it was a great experience for me, my first taste of professional football every day.

"The pre-season we endured was really tough, but it was a great learning experience and opened my eyes to how fit and disciplined you had to be and how much you needed to devote your life to football really.

"It was those few weeks which had a big shaping on how I looked after myself physically, so I have a lot to thank Tony for in that period."
