Neymar pulls the ball back for Luis Suarez, whose shot from the edge of the box is parried by Tono down low in the corner. The rebound lands to Neymar, who smashes the ball into the roof of the net.

Barcelona without Lionel Messi, Xavi or Andres Iniesta really lack the invincible feel of the great Catalan sides of recent years. They are looking very mortal here.

They have another chance as Lass Bangoura is played in around the corner of the box. Unfortunately for him and Rayo he can't lose his defender and get a clear sight at goal and his effort is deflected out for a corner, which comes to nothing.
You feel like there's a goal coming for the visitors. They'd deserve it.

Lass Bangoura hits the side-netting for Rayo - they have been brilliant in this second half so far. This game is so far from won for Barcelona.

Terrible play from Barca keeper Claudio Bravo almost let Rayo in for an equaliser. He kicks the ball straight at Jozabed and has to scramble to just about punch the ball away. It could have gone anywhere.

This has been a very open, entertaining game and Rayo Vallecano defender Diego Llorente - on loan from Real Madrid - forces a good save from Claudio Bravo.

Neymar is in for a hat-trick, he's in space, but he's very unselfish - too much so in fact - and he tries to square it to a team-mate in the centre but Rayo clear.
The best option there was definitely to shoot.

Barcelona make a change and it's a wasted chance for Sandro today. He got the nod to start ahead of fellow youth-team product Munir El Haddadi but did very little, bar waste a good chance. He slams a bib in anger when he reaches the bench.
Munir replaces him with the chance to be Lionel Messi's replacement for the next few weeks up for grabs.

Almost a huge moment as Luis Suarez expects to see Rayo Vallecano keeper Tono sent off. The Uruguayan is slipped through on goal and Tono comes flying out of his box and handles it as he slides on the ground.
Suarez thinks Tono is going to be sent off but instead the referee has called it back for offside. I presume the keeper must have seen the flag. Maybe.

Rayo Vallecano have started this half brilliantly. They should really be level - Claudio Bravo is keeping his side in it. Javi Guerra forces the Chilean into a good save from near the penalty spot and the keeper charges out to keep Patrick Ebert's rebound out.

Javi Guerra times his run brilliantly - Jeremy Mathieu has no chance of catching him - and controls a ball over the top but Claudio Bravo gets down low to save his shot from 16 yards out.

Rayo Vallecano had 51% of possession in the first half. The stats legends at Opta have just told me that the last time Barca finished a La Liga game with less possession than their opponents was September 2013 - also against Rayo. (45.73%).
