This is better from Celtic as Leigh Griffiths hares after the ball again and cuts it across goal for Tom Rogic to side-foot straight at Ajax keeper Jasper Cillessen. The big Aussie midfielder should be doing better from right in front of goal but he had strayed marginally offside, so it wouldn't have counted anyway.

Just to illustrate that last point, Dedryk Boyata gets his body in the way of a fierce Amin Younes shot and in the blink of an eye Leigh Griffiths is charging after a long ball in the Ajex box but he can't escape his marker to get a clean shot away and his eventual effort is scooped up by Jasper Cillessen.

The action is speeding from one end to the other at a rapid rate of knots. It's like a basketball game as the fans roar their approval.

Celtic fans are not happy as Callum McGregor is absolutely banjo-ed by a late sliding tackle but referee Felix Zwayer waves play on and Leigh Griffiths finds some space behind the Ajax defence for the first time, only to slam a shot into the side-netting.

Another slick move from the Dutch side sees them venture into the home penalty box and it takes a good intervention from Stuart Armstrong to prevent Lasse Schone getting a shot away.

Celtic are creaking as Ajax keep driving forward. The lively Amin Younes cuts in from the left and curls a shot just over the top.

Ajax are creeping into this now,enjoying more and more possession. A nifty free-kick routine sees Lasse Schone scamper behind the Celtic defence but Craig Gordon is there to snuff out the danger.

Big let off for Celtic. Viktor Fischer absolutely lashes the ball in for Ajax after Amin Younes knocks it into his path. The assistant ref has his flag in the air but TV replays show he's got that one wrong...

Ajax like to knock the ball around but they are being reduced to long, hopeful passes at the moment as Celtic work hard to press and pack men behind the ball when not in possession.

Celtic get the game started, with Ajax, playing in day-glo green tops and dark green shorts.

Of the six goals Celtic have scored in this tournament, Kris Commons has three and he set up the other three, so it's fair to say he'll be missed. Someone needs to step up and fill his size nines tonight...

As the opening bars of 'Walk On' begin at Celtic Park, I'll remind you that Celtic twice led in Amsterdam back in September, only for the Dutch to hit back each time for a 2-2 draw.
