  2. 'Klopp has to rattle some Liverpool players'published at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2016

    HT: West Ham 1-0 Liverpool

    Stuart Pearce
BBC Radio 5 live at Upton Park

"The game has got very scruffy with some poor passing. If we are looking at Liverpool and wondering if they are anywhere near a title challenge then on this evidence the answer is definitely a 'no'.

"The Emre Can shot that hit the crossbar was the first time we saw any cutting edge from Liverpool.

"They have not threatened West Ham's goal much. If West Ham score the next goal that will be enough to win. Jurgen Klopp has to go into his dressing room and rattle some of the Liverpool players."

"Arsenal are in a strong position in the Premier League and also through to the last 16 of the Champions League again. But they always seem to get injuries - already this season is no exception - so they need to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.

"Another centre-forward, a defensive midfielder and a centre-half should all be on Arsene Wenger's list but the difficult thing for Wenger is to find a way of doing that in the middle of the season to improve his team."

Match of the Day pundits have their say on what each Premier League club needs to do in the January transfer window.

I don't see any goals in this Aston Villa team. Where are they going to come from? If Villa do make any signings in January, I would suggest they are with one eye on the Championship as well."

This a massive game for Sunderland - a must-win game. Not just about points but in terms of confidence and belief too. Villa are cut adrift and it looks as though they are going to do down. But Sunderland need a result this weekend just to give everyone a bit of a lift. If they get beat or even draw then it's going to be very difficult for them."

"With the way Diego Costa has been with injuries, I can't see Chelsea letting Loic Remy go to Aston Villa.

"Remi Garde has said Villa have to win 10 games to avoid relegation, but you can't see them putting a run together."
