Another chance for Tottenham. Kieran Trippier floats a cross to the back post and it is met by a diving header from Harry Kane but Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey is well positioned to block the effort.

This could be a long half for Palace fans. First, Son Heung-min appeals for a handball, which is not given, and then Christian Eriksen, 25 yards out, sends one fizzing inches over the crossbar. Great effort, unlucky.

But it does not come to anything. Christian Eriksen's ball into the area is headed clear to Dele Alli, who tries a Hollywood volley and it ends up going well, well over the top.

Mauricio Pochettino will be wondering just how his side are behind. Tottenham have had the better chances, and Palace have not had a shot on target. But they still lead, courtesy of Jan Vertonghen's own goal.
Are Tottenham title contenders? Well, they are going to have to fight to win this one. Palace lead at half-time.

Former QPR striker on BBC Radio London
"When Spurs have hit the byeline, that is where their best chances have come from. They will probably feel that they deserve to be level but you have to give credit to Crystal Palace."

We've got a good game going on here. Seconds after Wilfried Zaha shot over at one end, Danny Rose has an attempt at the other.
He meets a cross with a volley but Hennessey does well to gather the powerful effort.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Tottenham
We mentioned Roy Hodgson is watching on, and he may well be very interested to see how Wilfried Zaha gets on.
The two-time England international torments Danny Rose, leaving the Spurs left-back on his backside. But, with time and space to do better, Zaha shoots over the top. His club manager Alan Pardew is not too impressed and a square pass would have been a better option.

Mhm: With Palace not scoring in 5, that was almost inevitable. Now let's get on with scoring some goals of our own.

And another chance for the away side. Dele Alli, with England boss Roy Hodgson in the Selhurst Park crowd, curls a shot which Wayne Hennessey comfortably deals with.

Garth Crooks
Former Spurs striker on Final Score
"As good as they are, and as exciting in the cups, when you go away to Palace you have to get something. You have to see to that threat, they have got to double up and with Zaha’s ability you have got to do that."
Crystal Palace 1-0 Tottenham
Almost an instant reply from the away side. Toby Alderweireld, showing skills that suggest he is wasted at centre-half, tricks and cuts inside his man. His angled shot just evades Harry Kane at the far post.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Tottenham
Crystal Palace score their first goal in six games, and get a helping hand from Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen.
Wilfried Zaha creates space for a cross, and the Belgium international can only prod the ball into his own net at the near post.

Lovely football from Spurs. The ball is played into Harry Kane who touches it to Christian Eriksen, who lofts a delightful pass over the Palace defence to Dele Alli. But the England midfielder does not get enough on it.
