Man Utd 0-0 Southampton
There is the best chance of the half so far. The only real chance of the half so far. Dusan Tadic chips the ball into the oath of Sadio Mane, who has a clear sight of goal but can't control the ball and bring it down. He tries to swing his boot through the ball, but it has already skipped away from him. It is a big let-off for United.

Man Utd 0-0 Southampton
Hold on, we've got a corner. Can Southampton make anything from this? Nope. The ball is swung right across the box and out for a goal kick. Dreadful.

"We have 13 minutes left in this half, if it stays 0-0, that will be the 11th successive game that Manchester United have not scored in the first-half at Old Trafford. That includes 10 0-0 draws and one 0-1 when they were losing to Norwich. That is incredible."

Man Utd 0-0 Southampton
This is terrible. Both sides are struggling to build anything meaningful in the opposition half. In fact, they're both struggling to even keep hold of the ball. Yes, you can praise the defensive work, but it makes for a very dull affair.

Rooney from distance... gooooooooooaaallll kick.
The England striker's effort from 30 yards is sliced nearer to the corner flag than the Saints net.

There is the first slight rise in stadium volume for a while as Virgil van Dijk's back pass is short and gives Anthony Martial a sniff. Fraser Forster is first to it, though, and hammers clear.
