    A shrewd signing?

"This week I watched a recording of Newcastle's game against West Ham and it was as well as I have seen them perform this season.

"Jonjo Shelvey made a big difference, but it was also the best I have seen Aleksandar Mitrovic play - he was man-of-the-match for me.

"Watford may enjoy a psychological advantage here, having beaten Newcastle twice already - including an FA Cup victory when a weakened Hornets side eliminated a full-strength Magpies team.

"But they have been poor in their last two league games, at Southampton and Swansea, failing to create enough chances for dangerous front two Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo, and will be desperate to avoid a fifth straight league defeat."

    John Hartson
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"Watford were very humble when they won four in a row and were getting so many plaudits so they deserve to be given some time when losing four in a row. I was disappointed in them in losing at Swansea last Monday.

"But they have points in the bank, they can have a bad run."

    Watford v Newcastle (15:00 GMT)

This is the sort of match that the Hornets should win, but the Magpies have found a little bit of form. It's likely they'll put in a better display than the one they showed in their 1-0 FA Cup defeat a couple of weeks back.

How do you think the match will unfold?

  17. When's the next Odion showing?published at 14:00

    Watford v Newcastle (15:00 GMT)

"We need to see the best of you again"

That's what Watford coach Quique Sanchez Flores has told his trusty striker Odion Ighalo.

You see, Odion's form has dipped a wee bit. He's scored 13 goals in 21 games, but hasn't found the net since 28 December... that's like a whole... a whole FOUR GAMES!!

Slightly more of a concern is their league form - one point and no wins in five league matches. They are on 29 points. How many times have we seen teams flourish in the first half of the season then slowwwww right down post NY?

Now for Newcastle, who could end up doing the opposite. After a truly shocking start to 2015-16, they've started this season with a loss, draw and win - not spectacular, but the overall displays will have heartened the mob of Mags.

The last time these two met was in the FA Cup two weeks ago, when, somewhat unsurprisingly, Newcastle lost at the Vic.

    Team news coming up.
