Has Cristiano Ronaldo just dug Rafael Benitez out of a whole heap of trouble? He nets his second goal of the game with a low volley from just inside the area and there's a roar of relief. The mood has gone from ugly to jubilation.

Twenty five minutes left for Real Madrid to find another goal. Sociedad look comfortable and the television cameras are pointing to men in smart suits sat in the president's box.

Rafael Benitez ventures out of the dugout...sparking another round of whistles from disgruntled locals. This is getting ugly.

The natives are restless. There's mutiny in the air at the Bernabeu and Benitez is bearing the brunt of the anger. He replaces James Rodriguez with Mateo Kovacic in an attempt to inject some life into a lacklustre midfield. The decision is greeted a chorus of jeers.

Alarm bells sound in the Madrid defence again. Bruma is a real box of tricks and you wouldn't put it past Sociedad from snatching a second goal.

Bruma is sprinting clear as Real Madrid's defence falls asleep but his second touch is poor and Keylor Navas is able to save. 

These are worrying times for the hosts - and Benitez.

Real Sociedad have lost two players to injury in this match - including their leading scorer - and have been victim to two questionable penalty decisions.

Yet the La Liga strugglers are back on level terms at the Bernabeu. 

What a wonderful goal by substitute Bruma as he curls the ball beyond Keylor Navas from an angle. It's a terrific finish inside the area and the mood is ugly inside the Bernabeu. Rafael Benitez is slumped in his seat in the dugout.
