I think I'm safe to say Real Madrid won't be scoring 10 today - as they did last time out. However, Rafael Benitez's team will be going top of the table if the score stays like this - if only for a couple of hours.

They might be leading but it says everything about Real Madrid's first half performance that there are whistles from some home fans as the players head for the dressing room. 

It goes from bad to worse for Sociedad. Having fallen victim to a dodgy penalty decision, the visitors have now lost midfielder Sergio Canales after the player pulled up with no one around him. His replacement is Ruben Pardo.

Astonishing. Real Madrid win a second penalty as Gareth Bale's cross hits a Sociedad knee and deflects on to an arm. Very harsh!

Luka Modric and Karim Benzema both test the keeper within a minute but both are tame efforts. Where is the desire? Real Madrid are playing like a team with nothing to play for.

More whistles from the home fans as Real Sociedad go close. A header from Jonathas falls just wide. More arm flinging from Benitez. 

This is a stinker of a game. Sociedad are getting plenty behind the ball and are happy to attack on the counter. Real are struggling to create chances and now the fans are jeering.

It's all very slack from Real Madrid. Their promising early start seems an age away. Rafael Benitez is pacing his technical area barking instructions. He's looking a little flustered.
