West Ham v Southampton (17:30 GMT)

D D D D D is how West Ham's last five league games read, they're finding it difficult to find a win at the moment. On the other hand, they're unbeaten in five games. Look at that whichever way you want.

The Hammers come up against a Southampton side fresh from a 4-0 thrashing of title contenders Arsenal on Saturday. The Gunners were shot down in spectacular fashion so Ronald Koeman's men will be full of confidence.

Norwich v Aston Villa (15:00 GMT)

    John Roder
Match of the Day commentator at Selhurst Park

"Aston Villa have a good recent record in matches against Norwich City, which might be a small crumb of comfort for Villa fans ahead of this crucial fixture.

"At the moment, Remi Garde can only dream of having the same sort of impact that Alex Neil has had in Norfolk. It has been a memorable 2015 for the Canaries following Neil's appointment in January.

"Villa travel to Norfolk having not won in the Premier League since the opening day of the season. With both sides desperate to end the year on a high it is certain to be a tense afternoon."

What a huge game this is! Some have written off Aston Villa already, but fail to win this game and surely there is no way back?

Remi Garde is yet to taste success since taking over as Villa boss in early November and his team haven't won in the league since the opening day of the season.

Norwich suffered a heavy 3-0 loss at Spurs on Boxing Day so need the points themselves, lying outside the drop zone on goal difference.

In desperate need of victory, there shouldn't be any cagey, sitting back in this game, so we may be in for a belter.

    Everton v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

It was a win-win situation for both of these sides on Boxing Day, in a campaign where the two sides have enjoyed a solid first half of the season.

Midfielder Tom Cleverley, who has missed much of this term through injury, reminded everyone that he's still around, heading in a injury-time winner at Newcastle.

Mark Hughes's Stoke side are a different proposition these days with the attacking trio of Xherdan Shaqiri, Bojan and Marko Arnautovic, as Manchester United found out on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing those three in action this afternoon.

    Everton v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

Everton's fans maybe need more inspiration than a holding midfielder. While the Toffees are undoubtedly playing some good stuff and won with a late, late goal at Newcastle on Boxing Day, they have not served up a home win in over a month.

Goodison has seen just three wins from nine Premier League games this season, form which will have to improve if Everton are to get closer to the top four.

  16. Liverpool news conferencepublished at 12:51

Sunderland v Liverpool (Wed, 19:45 GMT)

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp hopes to build on Boxing Day's win against Leicester but is anticipating some classic Sam Allardyce tactics.

"I think second balls will be a big thing to think about for Sunderland," said Klopp.

"We want to improve our situation, we want to develop, we want to get more points in this important moment in the league

"There's no doubt about the quality of the players, the character. What we have to create is a stable level of performance

He adds: "We have to go to Sunderland and be concentrated from the first second, like we were against Leicester."

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking ahead of Liverpool's trip to the Stadium of Light on Wednesday and started off with some team news.

Jordan Ibe is back in training but James Milner is out for another week.

"Ibe is back in training since yesterday - he was sick."

"Milner will start pitch sessions outside tomorrow and then he needs a week I would say."

  19. Norwich get Balls...published at 12:42

Norwich v Aston Villa (15:00 GMT)

Norwich take on Aston Villa in a key scrap at the bottom of the table later and the Canaries have been handed a major boost ahead of kick-off.

No, they've not signed Lionel Messi or discovered Jeremy Goss will come out of retirement to bolster their midfield, instead they have made former shadow chancellor Ed Balls chairman.

The 48-year-old Canaries fan, said: "From the moment my dad first took me to watch from the terraces at Carrow Road in 1973, my earliest ambition was to play for the club. The next best thing is to become chairman."
