  1. RED CARD (Nathan Ake, Watford)published at 16:20

    Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Watford were just starting to gain a bit of momentum but this might just blow that out of the water as Nathan Ake commits a needless foul and is sent off. He goes in foot first on Erik Lamela, studs into the thigh, and is shown a straight red.

Long way to go for Watford now, with 35 minutes remaining. Can they hold on?

    West Brom 0-0 Newcastle

Fair to say the Newcastle goalmouth has seen a lot of action over past hour or so.

But had Paul Dummett's header been just slightly better directed the away side would be leading. The fine margins...

    Norwich 1-0 Aston Villa

Norwich have a chance to put this game to bed, but fail to do so. Winger Nathan Redmond makes a run forward before curling an effort goalwards.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan makes a right meal of it, spilling the ball into the path of Jonny Howson, but the goalscorer can't keep his effort on target.

  5. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:14

    West Brom 0-0 Newcastle

    So close.

Newcastle almost snatch the lead with their third corner of the game, but Paul Dummett's thumping header rattles the woodwork, before Fabricio Coloccini's flick from the rebound is deflected behind.

Dieumerci Mbokani versus Ciaran Clark is shaping up as the individual battle of the day at Carrow Road.

Norwich's number nine is being tightly marshaled by the Villa centre-half. The home side lead but have still only mustered one shot on target...

    Norwich 1-0 Aston Villa

There's been suggestions of some Premier League players downing tools and not trying for their managers, but you can't say that about Aston Villa players.

Striker Jordan Ayew is really putting himself about, scrapping for the ball but they need goals to go with their fight. The French born Ghanaian international is penalised for a foul on Sebastien Bassong.

    "Ayew."

    "Who, me?"

    "Yes, you."

Jordan can't believe that decision was given against him.

    Everton 1-2 Stoke

This game has already seen a goal of the season contender, if not the goal of the season, but I reckon there's more to come as Everton go straight on the hunt for an equaliser. Romelu Lukaku finds substitute Tom Cleverley, but his shot is blocked.

    West Brom 0-0 Newcastle

West Brom attack, and West Brom win a corner once again. This is their ELEVENTH of the game, so the law of averages surely suggests one of these has to go in? Not this one, though, as Karl Darlow punches Chris Brunt's delivery. Get someone else on them.

  11. 'Pardew good enough to manage England'published at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2015

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Swansea

    Garth Crooks
Former Spurs striker on Final Score

"If you're looking for an England manager who is currently in the Premier League then Alan Pardew immediately comes to mind. Do I think he is good enough? Yes I do."

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Swansea

Finally, we have a chance at Selhurst Park.

Yohan Cabaye's lovely shaped free-kick curling in from the left is headed on by defender Brede Hangeland, but it's pushed out well by the alert Lukasz Fabianski.

More goalmouth action in the opening minutes of the second half than the whole of the first.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:05

    Watford 1-1 Tottenham

Watford emerged with a tweak to their team for the second half, with Valon Behrami replacing his Swiss compatriot and fellow midfielder Almen Abdi.

    Norwich 1-0 Aston Villa

Norwich were blasting out a bit of Muse during half time at Carrow Road. The song was Hysteria, which is what the home fans will have felt when Jonny Howson tucked in the opener.

Time Is Running Out would have been the more appropriate Muse tune to put on for the visitors.

    Everton 1-2 Stoke

    Garth Crooks
Former Spurs striker on Final Score

"I've not seen football like this from a Stoke team since the early seventies. That team had a real panache. Shaqiri, Bojan and Arnautovic remind me of that swashbuckling style."

    Everton 1-2 Stoke

    John Hartson
Former Wales striker on BBC Final Score

"It was a brilliant finish from Xherdan Shaqiri, that is such a hard skill to do that on the run and on the half-volley. He is at full stretch and weights it perfectly to get it over Tim Howard."

  19. Let's see that again shall we?published at 15:54

    Everton 1-2 Stoke

    Xherdan. Shaqiri. Has. Arrived.

We can try our best to translate the beauty of Stoke's second goal into 2D form, but you'll have to stay up for Match of the Day tonight to do it any justice.

  20. 'Watford have deflated Tottenham'published at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2015

    Watford 1-1 Tottenham

    David Pleat
Former Tottenham boss on BBC Radio 5 live

"Not the highest quality game but still of a decent standard. The passion and determination of Watford has deflated Tottenham. They are showing good running power and making good decisions in midfield."
