Mark Savile: Why is a shoulder barge a "fair challenge"? Taking someone's feet out isn't so why is taking out their top half?!

The match is being played at 100mph now. That goal on the stroke of half-time has stirred Liverpool, who are swinging wildly like a man who's been woken up in the middle of the night by a loud crash at the back door. Frenetic, and might yet prove effective.

BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield"I thought Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would have put on striker Christian Benteke at half-time. When they play the ball up to Roberto Firmino he just can't get hold of it."

James Milner and Jon Walters chase the same ball. It's not exactly the 100m final, but it leads to a fascinating shoulder barge nonetheless. Walters wins on points.

Liverpool hit the post!
A James Milner corner is directed towards Kolo Toure, who can't quite pick it up. The ball ends up at the feet of Roberto Firmino who drives a powerful low shot against the base of the post.

Liverpool start on the front foot and an elaborate free-kick routine, which involves somebody feigning to take it and then somebody else taking it, is headed away from danger by Stoke.

Paul Walmsley: Not surprised the linesman missed the offside; he's probably fallen asleep after a dull first 45 minutes...
Ray King: Not ignoring the shoddy defending but how can the linesman not see how blatantly offside Arnautovic was? Ridiculous.
Matt Parry: Yet again poor decision-making by officials in an important game has a massive effect. Surely video tech has to be in asap.
Do you think Arnautovic's goal was offside? What do you think of Liverpool's display so far? Let us know using #bbcfootball, external

Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at AnfieldThat was going to be 45 minutes (technically 46) that no-one would ever get back, but Stoke City are level with that goal from Marko Arnautovic.
It had been a dreadful half but Liverpool have not shown any great ambition and Stoke have taken advantage.
Cat among pigeons.

GOAL - Liverpool 0-1 Stoke (agg 1-1)published at 45 mins

That's shaken Anfield.
Stoke have only gone and bagged. Marko Arnautovic is Johnny-on-the-spot as he taps home from six yards after a perfectly weighted cross out on the right by Bojan.
But was he offside? Liverpool, particularly chief culprit Kolo Toure, think so. It was very, very close if it wasn't.

As Roberto Firmino is flagged offside, television cameras pick up a man leaving his seat to beat everyone else to the toilet. And pie queue.
I'm sure it'll divide opinion whether that's a sensible or silly move.
