The Northern Ireland fans look much happier than their Ukrainian rivals as they tuck into their half-time popcorn. Ukraine shaded possession, but didn't really do much with it.

Northern Ireland created the better chances, while Michael McGovern hardly got his gloves dirty.

Certainly a better first half by Northern Ireland, compared with their ‘under the cosh’ opening 45 against Poland.

Craig Cathcart’s header from a Jamie Ward corner, which just missed the angle of post and crossbar was their best effort.

Northern Ireland have now not conceded a goal in the first half of their last 10 matches.

The question is, can they score at the other end and revive their hopes of making the last 16?

So far, so good. Huge cheers from the Norn Iron fans greet the half-time whistle. Michael O'Neill's men stormed out of the blocks, struggled a bit in the middle bit, before roaring back in the final quarter. Much better than the Poland game.

Huge cheers from the GAWA as Ukraine's final foray forward ends with a misplaced pass. Sevilla's Yevhen Konoplyanka biffs one out of play and that should be about that.

Ukraine midfielder Yevhen Seleznyov is the first man to have his name taken by Czech referee Pavel Kralovec. He sees yellow for a late tackle on Jonny Evans.

Since when did Jamie Ward turn into Neymar?! He is running the show at the moment. This time, the Northern Ireland wide-man cuts back from the right channel where one or two green shirts are outnumbered by Ukraine defenders. Corry Evans lunges in but needs to be a couple of extra inches taller to meet it.

Jamie Ward is causing a few problems for the left side of the Ukraine defence. The Nottingham Forest forward picks up the ball just inside the Ukraine half and hares off on another forward run. His long-range shot clips a yellow shirt and goes out for a corner. This time, Michael O'Neill's men can't make it count.

"He has to hit the target but painfully it's just over the bar. Very good play by Northern Ireland. It's great delivery which we didn't see the other day against Poland.

"It's a free header really and he may be a little off balance but it's a great delivery. If the ball is good, you give yourself a chance."

Ooof! Northern Ireland are known for their danger from set-pieces - and they go close from that corner. Craig Cathcart has springs in his boots to leap above the Ukraine defence, powering a header just over the crossbar.

Northern Ireland back on the attack. They're growing into this. A cross from the left falls to the feet for Corry Evans, who blasts into the legs of a Ukrainian defender as he tries to wriggle into space. He turns around to get an earful from team-mate Steven Davis. He was unmarked and screaming for the lay-off. Corner...

A rare Northern Ireland attack almost reaps reward. And it comes down the right flank! Jamie Ward wriggles clear, sweeping into towards the front post. Conor Washington busts a gut to reach it before a Ukraine defender, only to see the ball bobble off his shin and out for a goal-kick.
