The disgruntled Aston Villa fans are a picture. Plenty of shouting, pointing and head shaking.

Striker Gabby Agbonlahor is down again. He won't be able to continue this time. It looks like he has taken a knock to the face sometime during this half.

Excellent play from James Milner to work a cross, which is cleverly flicked on by Philippe Coutinho. The ball is in the air towards Daniel Sturridge but it's a 50/50 ball and he's not going to get involved is he?

Aston Villa midfielder Carles Gil seems a bit too lightweight for the Premier League. Every time he's had the ball today, a Liverpool player has shoudler barged him off it. Needs to bulk up a little, especially for next season, it'll be even tougher.

If Daniel Sturridge could have picked a game to come back into in order to ease his way back into the side, he couldn't have selected a much better one than this.

The Englishman is having the freedom of Birmingham and all the tricks are coming out. A Ronaldinho-esque no-look pass will be shown on the highlights reel tonight.

First real spell of possession for Aston Villa, it's taken them long enough but peters out into nothing.

The ball is neatly worked to the right wing, but Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet can throw his cap on Leandro Bacuna's low cross. 

Even the Belgian can't mess that one up, he's had very little to do today.

Aston Villa are so slack, you can see why they are struggling. Centre-back Jores Okore has a simple pass to play, but gives it straight to Roberto Firmino on the edge of the box, but the Brazilian can't find team-mate Daniel Sturridge with his arced lay-off. A let off for the home side.

William Broom: Although it's against bottom of the league Aston Villa, you can't help getting excited by a fit Sturridge.
