    Aston Villa 0-2 Liverpool

...Philippe Coutinho scored a lovely free-kick on Wednesday against West Ham, rolling one in under wall.

He goes the conventional over-the-wall route this time, but there's too much curl and it drifts wide of goal.

Liverpool get the ball back and Roberto Firmino is chopped down.

Rob Ruddock: This game is like a training match. No atmosphere from the Villa Park fans and no pressure from the Villa players.

Wale Ibraheem: Villa in that position isn't a coincidence. No passion, no urgency, only to make this Liverpool team look so good.

    Aston Villa 0-2 Liverpool

So comfortable for Liverpool, they're already got this game wrapped up, barring them doing something very silly.

They carve Aston Villa open once again as Roberto Firmino plays left-back Alberto Moreno in, but the Spaniard can't get enough purchase on the shot and Mark Bunn can gather.

    Aston Villa 0-2 Liverpool

Liverpool can get a hat full if they keep going and almost make it 3-0.

Jordan Henderson gets on the end of James Milner's nod back, and the midfielder's goalbound shot is deflected wide by Aston Villa's Jores Okore who is stationed on the goal line.

Alex Hurst: For those who say Liverpool don't play a style that works for Benteke, that's two goals from headers in 2 league games.

Sanj: Another Englishman on the scoresheet! Wow. 5/5 today

    Oh deary me.

This is shocking stuff from Aston Villa and they are definitely going down if they continue to play like this for the rest of the season.

Former Villa man James Milner is the goalscorer, as his inswinging free-kick from the left evades all the players in the box, including the onrushing goalkeeper Mark Bunn, before nestling in at the back post.

Jurgen Klopp with a subdued - yet delighted - celebration, punching the air while looking cool in his chair. Game over?

Chris White: 4 goals today from 4 different England strikers. Bring on the Euros!!

Ashley Wilkinson: Daniel Sturridge - simply the best striker and finisher England have by a distance.

Dave: Nice header by Sturridge but what a space they gave him! I've seen apartments smaller that that!

    Aston Villa 0-1 Liverpool

Can Aston Villa get back into the game? They are the Premier League's bottom side so have to work doubly hard to find an equaliser.

Liverpool are comfortable though, with little troubling them at their end. Ashley Westwood's ambitious effort from around 30-yards out flies about 30-yards wide. Ugly.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Liverpool

Having seen Jamie Vardy, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck all net in the match between Arsenal and Leicester, Daniel Sturridge is the latest England striker to score today.

Roy Hodgson did not even mention Sturridge when talking about English front men on Match of the Day last night, a timely reminder for him.

That goal may open up the floodgates for the Reds.

    Out of nothing, a goal.

It's oh so easy for the visitors. Philippe Coutinho picks the ball up on the left, there's no challenge on him and he can whip a cross into the box.

It's on a plate for the returning Daniel Sturridge, who is unmarked seven yards out, planting a header into the bottom corner.

A gift wrapped present on Valentines Day for the Reds.

Both sides showing why they started the match in the bottom half of the table. A point for Liverpool will allow them up jump up two place to ninth.

Win and they go eighth so plenty for the Reds to play for.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge miscontrols a ball played up top to him and with an Aston Villa player closing in, he makes no attempt to get involved in the 50/50 challenge.

With his injury record, who can blame him.
