That was a decent second period and Norwich fans, don't give in yet, there was plenty of guts on show.

Blame the referee? Lee Mason did not help the home side in the opening period but goals early and late in the first half proved too big a mountain for Norwich to climb.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Ouch, yuck, that's very ugly indeed. A clash of heads as Gary O'Neil clatters into Robbie Brady. O'Neil runs down the tunnel and there will have to be a change here as he will need stitches. Brady's cut is not as bad, it's his lips only.

It looks like Graham Dorrans is being asked to get ready. O'Neil had a large cut on his forehead.

The home crowd want action. Instead they see Timm Klose booked for a foul on Diego Costa and the Spain striker is in no rush to get up.

Robbie Brady has a dig from 25 yards and Cameron Jerome tries to flick the ball away from Thibaut Courtois but he cannot get enough on it. Saved.

More positive stuff from Nathan Redmond draws a foul from Cesc Fabregas and a booking. The delivery comes in, great punch from Thibaut Courtois a full 12 yards from his goal.

This is a key few minutes, Norwich need to ride this wave and push for every inch with the crowd in fine voice. Can they shake Chelsea? A flurry of blows is needed after that Nathan Redmond strike...

Gary O'Neil with the cross, Branislav Ivanovic does not need to move to head clear. Chelsea now have Nemanja Matic and John Obi Mikel shielding the back four, surely this side cannot be penetrated twice.

It's professional stuff now from Chelsea. Guus Hiddink has them well drilled and they look like they will close this out. Little threat from the home side, Chelsea in third gear.

Remember this result will put Norwich where they really do not want to be - the bottom three.

Sunderland will be in there too for now, they've just fallen 2-1 down.
