"It was the reward for a very brisk start from Slaven Bilic's side and for the in-form Michail Antonio. That makes it six in 10 home games this season.

"Spurs have not got started yet but one thing we have learned about Mauricio Pochettino's side this season is that they have real character."

"There was nobody defending the post for Tottenham.

"It drives me insane. It was a strong header from Antonio, but I think the keeper should do better at his near post. Lloris shouldn't be letting that in."

"If Tottenham beat West Ham to notch up a seventh league win on the spin for the first time in nearly half a century and then beat Arsenal on Saturday, the title can be theirs.

"But what a game this is. West Ham are playing brilliant football. They're unbeaten at home since August. This is their last Upton Park derby with Spurs. The place is special under lights. Payet could win Footballer of the Year.

"The Hammers could easily win this and the title race will be wide open again."

"Just turn right out of Upton Park station on to Queen Street and you can sense the special atmosphere of a big night at The The Boleyn Ground.

"This is a fierce rivalry and while Spurs know victory will put them top of the Premier League, West Ham United will try everything to ensure it is not at their expense.

"While north London rivals Arsenal failed their test of nerve at Manchester United on Sunday, if Spurs can win here in very hostile territory it will prove they have what it takes to win their first title since 1961."

Leicester City's 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday has paved the way for Spurs to go top of the Premier League table for the first time since August 2009.

Notch a seventh straight league win by defeating London rivals West Ham United and they will replace the Foxes on goal difference with 10 games remaining.

No wonder they are getting excited down White Hart Lane.

What on earth do you buy someone who has everything for their birthday?

It's fair to say Mauricio Pochettino does not want for anything after a successful playing career in Argentina, France and Spain.

Yet on the day the Argentine turns 44 his Tottenham team can deliver their boss a present no amount of money can buy - a place at the top of the Premier League table.
