Free-scoring Burnley move to within four points of the automatic promotion places with their fourth successive win in all competitions.

The enormity of the result is magnified as it came against one of their biggest promotion rivals - albeit one in a form slump.

Both sides now turn their attention to FA Cup action with the Clarets traveling to Arsenal on Saturday, while Derby host Manchester United at the iPro Stadium on Friday.

There are two Championship fixtures on Tuesday evening, while we'll also discover who will contest this season's League Cup final over the next couple of days.

Liverpool take a 1-0 lead into their semi-final second leg with Stoke (Tuesday, 19:45 GMT), while Everton are 2-1 up going into the second leg of their tie at Manchester City 24 hours later.

BBC Sport will have live text and Radio 5 live commentary of both matches.  

And as the week starts with Derby County, why not finish with the Rams? They host Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday - but will be hoping for a much better result.

Burnley go third with victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Derby County.

The results extends the Rams' winless run to five games.

But this was a bizarre game at times. Richard Keogh scoring a headed own goal to put the Clarets in front before a stunning Jacob Butterfield volley leveled proceedings 26 seconds later.

Then three goals in 12 second-half minutes - including two penalties in four minutes - decided the result.

It will be one to forget for Keogh, who also conceded the first penalty, while Jason Shackell had a shocker on his return to Turf Moor, handing in the area to give away a penalty before his deflection allowed Scott Arfield to add a fourth.

Substitute Abdoul Camara has used his time on the pitch to good effect and has been dangerous down the left for Derby.

Granted, nothing has come of his supply, but it can't be all bad for Derby tonight. A little positive off the bench is worth taking I'd say.

Three added minutes flashed up on the board.

Sam Vokes leaves the field to a fine ovation. Not a bad few days for the Wales international as he extends his stay with the club and gets on the scoresheet in a game that will send Burnley third in the table.

Dean Marney is the man that takes Vokes' place.

Nick Blackman leaves the field for what is Derby's last change. Craig Bryson enters the action with little over three minutes to work up a sweat.

Burnley will be four points behind second-placed Middlesbrough as things stand.

Less than six minutes remaining of the game at Turf Moor and the volume of the crowd is turned up a notch.

Third place in the Championship is theirs, barring some sort of staggering collapse in the closing stages. Unlikely, but there have been utterly mad moments in this game so far.

Tom Ince's night is over for Derby as he is replaced by Johnny Russell, who is another energetic figure that will want to spur Derby on from the front.

And for Burnley, Andre Gray is replaced by Rouwen Hennings.

As Derby labour away trying to force their way back into the game, Burnley are having it much easier at the other end.

Andre Gray calls Scott Carson into action with a fine shot from 20 yards. The Clarets are springing forward looking to inflict more pain on the Rams.

David Jones is the next to have a go for Burnley. Again Carson has to make a save. No respite at the moment for Derby's keeper on his return from injury.

Tom Ince looking like he wants to haul Derby back into this one on his own.

Two positive runs from the forward have seen him burrow into the area, but he fails to test Tom Heaton in Burnley's goal. His second effort, lashed across the face of goal, is his best chance of the night so far.

Derby's Chris Martin shouts for a penalty as he gets ahead of Michael Keane in the area. Hands in the back? Referee says no.

At 4-1 down and a mountain to climb, anything is worth an appeal for the Rams.

Paul Clement goes to his bench looking to change this up for Derby. As it stands, anything would be an improvement.

Bradley Johnson makes way for Abdoul Camara.

Well, two penalties in four minutes will have me dining on my word from earlier.

The crisis that was dressed up like a blip may very well be a crisis in the making. Derby have imploded.

Having controlled proceedings for so long, the Rams can be nothing but stunned.
