Irrespective of the scoreline, Brentford can hurt you. There are so many good teams in this division. We've got good experience and a mix of younger ones as well.

When you sell your star striker for £9m, probably the last thing you want is to be coming up against him five days later.

That's what awaits Blackburn Rovers tomorrow, as Jordan Rhodes is poised to make his Middlesbrough debut against the club he left on deadline day.

"That's the way it is but if involved on Saturday I'll give my all in a red shirt," Scotland international Rhodes told BBC Tees.

It has been a good time for me since I have been here. I am really happy. I could have scored more but the three points was the most important thing.

Brighton get their third of the evening and it has been coming.

The Bees have been pushing forward to get back in the game and one ball from the centre circle from Andrew Crofts releases Jamie Murphy, who shoots across David Button into the bottom corner.

A last-ditch challenge from Yoann Barbet denies James Wilson Brighton's third.

The on-loan Manchester Untied man took too long over his shot, and could even have found unmarked team-mate Jamie Murphy in the middle.

Brighton are content to pick their moments on the counter-attack.

The sting has gone out of Brentford's midfield play in the last few minutes, and a few passing errors have crept in.

Brighton come to within inches of making it 3-0 and wrapping up the game.

Brighton are forced into a final substitution and bring on January signing Steve Sidwell for Beram Kayal.

The 33-year-old had loan spells at both these clubs when he was a youngster at Arsenal.

His last appearance for Brighton came on 11 January 2003 in a goalless draw at Coventry.

A worry for Brighton as Sergi Canos gets on the end of a long ball forward. Brighton recover but a clearance cannons off a Brentford shirt and back to Canos.

However the Spaniards second effort from the angle bobbles away harmlessly across goal.
