Northampton Town's 10-match winning run was halted by Hartlepool on Saturday but Chris Wilder's side remain in an almost unassailable position at the top of League Two.

They hold a 10-point lead over second-placed Plymouth going into tonight's home game with AFC Wimbledon, while the Cobblers are 18 points clear of fourth-placed Accrington Stanley.

Plymouth are at Barnet this evening, while Oxford - who occupy the final automatic promotion spot - host relegation-threatened York.

Burton manager Nigel Clough takes his League One leaders to Sheffield United this evening.

It's the first time that Clough has been back to Bramall Lane as a boss since he was sacked by the Blades at the end of last season.

If Burton slip up, Wigan could assume top spot by close of play. The in-form Latics are away at Millwall.

As a lifelong "Lesta" fan I wanted to say that wherever we finish this season I want the club to have an open top bus parade around the city. First, second, third, wherever we finish we've proved that money, egos and fickle fans are not what it's all about. Camaraderie, teamwork and solid hard work can get you a long way.

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Spurs & England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

"This takeover will give Everton more power to spend in the market and they won't have any excuses now. The new investor will bring cash to the table and he will want results. He will want them chasing the Champions League."

Championship: Blackburn v Middlesbrough (19:45 GMT)

    Grant LeadbitterImage source, PA

After going five games without a win in January and February, Middlesbrough are back on track and will go top of the Championship if they avoid defeat at Blackburn this evening.

Head coach Aitor Karanka told BBC Tees: "Now the team is more confident again - the team feels that they can win every single game. So for that reason I am confident for the future."

Paul Lambert's Blackburn are 18th in the table, eight points above the relegation zone.

Good news for Palace fans. Yannick Bolasie starts for the first time since December. He has had two substitute appearances since returning from a calf injury.

  15. TP backing the Foxespublished at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2016

Leicester v West Brom (19:45 GMT)

Claudio Ranieri may be reluctant to speak about his side's title hopes, but West Brom counterpart Tony Pulis is hoping the Foxes can hold off their rivals.

He told BBC Radio 5 live: "The divide between the big clubs and everyone else is enormous. It would give everyone hope. You want to see the underdog do well.

"It would be a wonderful, wonderful achievement. I hope they see it through."

    Tont PulisImage source, Getty Images

Pulis believes a Leicester triumph, a year after fighting relegation, would eclipse the achievements of Brian Clough with Nottingham Forest in 1978.

Clough took Forest to their first - and only - domestic league title a year after winning promotion to the top flight, later winning two European Cups.

"It'd be that big," said Pulis. "But it was different then. The divide then wasn't as great as the divide is now between those who've got it and those who haven't got it.

"The Premier League wasn't in place, so you'd most probably put this in front of that."

*Pulis did say that he hopes Leicester lose tonight, obviously...

Bournemouth are five points away from the bottom three, Southampton are seven off the top four. 24 miles separates them. Should be tasty down at the Vitality Stadium tonight.

And you can chuck in that the Saints are smarting after Chelsea ended their six-match, non-conceding unbeaten run at the weekend and the Cherries have been beaten in this fixture on each of the last five occasions.

Aston Villa v Everton (19:45 GMT)

    Roberto MartinezImage source, Getty Images

With a new major shareholder on board, there is much talk about whether Everton are now going to start competing financially with the top-flight's top dogs. Before any of that can take place, though, they have to deal with the rest of this season.

You would expect them to win tonight. Most of their Premier League problems have come at home this season. They were beaten 1-0 by West Brom at Goodison last time out in the league, but are unbeaten on the round in the top-flight since 24 October.

Oh, and they are playing Aston Villa, who have the worst home record in the division and are not so much rooted to the bottom of the table as welded to it.
