    Liverpool 0-0 Sunderland

First real save of note at Anfield is made by Sunderland's Vito Mannone, who gets down well to smartly save Alberto Moreno's shot from an angle in the box. The home side are building up a head of steam. If Jurgen Klopp is listening in from his sick-bed, he'll be encouraged.

    Stoke 0-1 Everton

Stoke are battling to get a foothold in the game against Everton but the away side are doing really well to disrupt the home rhythm.

  3. Aston Villa to win the Premier League in 2017?published at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

    Aston Villa 0-0 Norwich

Chin up Aston Villa fans, I posted a picture earlier of the league table one year ago. Leicester were bottom and now they are six points clear at the top. Villa for the 2016/17 title?

No goals yet in this game, but Villa are fashioning a couple of chances, most notably Gabby Agbonlahor firing just wide.

Some of you are refusing to get carried away by the amazing Leicester story...

Luke Moody: Calm down guys, anyone remember Liverpool beating City and everyone saying they should then win the title? Long way to go

Geordie boy:  I would love Leicester to win the league and think it can happen, remember Newcastle had a bigger point gap & blew it. Still time yet

    Newcastle 0-0 West Brom

West Brom are screaming for a penalty as Craig Gardner goes to ground following a foul. The referee feels it was just outside, though, and awards a free-kick, which the same Baggies man takes but clips the wall with his effort for a corner. The home side do well to stay firm and clear from the resulting set-piece. Bit more even now at St James' Park.

    Gylfi Sigurdsson (14 mins)

Perfect start for Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin in his first home game in charge.

It is a trademark free-kick from Gylfi Sigurdsson that gives the hosts the lead, bending the ball over the wall and into the net. Brilliant.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

    Liverpool 0-0 Sunderland

No real chances at Anfield, but the fans are making their thoughts known on ticket prices. There has also been an early substitution, with Dejan Lovren going off injured and Kolo Toure on.

    Romelu Lukaku

Ross Barkley put away two penalties against Newcastle mid-week but it is Romelu Lukaku who takes this and makes no mistake with a coolly-taken spot-kick.

    Swansea 0-0 Crystal Palace

Swansea fans appear to have taken to their new boss Francesco Guidolin, with the not-so-catchy "Guidolin's barmy army" ringing out around the stadium.

Not a lot to sing about on the pitch yet though.

Penalty for Everton! Tom Cleverley is brought down by Jack Butland. Ref points rightly to the spot.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Norwich

No clear cut chances as yet but Aston Villa had to be alert to snuff out a Norwich attack led by Steven Naismith.

Big game for Villa, who trail Norwich by 10 points. Must win.

    Man City 1-3 Leicester

Claudio Ranieri speaking to BBC Sport: "We played very, very compact and believed everything could be possible.

"We play without pressure because we don't have to win the league. We must enjoy. This league is so strange and now it is important to think about Arsenal.

"I want to wait until the end of April because I know the last matches are very tough. This is a fantastic moment for the Premier League, nobody knows who can win it.

"I hope my players didn't feel pressure. We have to enjoy, with a lot of confidence match after match and step by step."

Robby Bobby Gibbs: If Leicester FC don't do a Newcastle 1996 they should march all the way, talk about confidence, it surpasses skill!!

Chris Long: Providing Claudio Ranieri doesn't make any speeches starting with the phrase "I'd love it", it's Leicester's title now.

  16. Football League updatepublished at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

A battle at the top of Championship, with league leaders Hull travelling to fourth-placed Burnley, who sit just four points behind them. Middlesbrough's new star striker Jordan Rhodes is only on the bench at home to Blackburn, while bottom club Bolton battle fellow strugglers Rotherham at the Macron.

In League One two games are off, but the top two of Burton and Walsall are both in action, while in the fourth tier of the six games remaining top club Northampton face bottom side York - 38 points separate the teams in the table.

  17. CLOSE!published at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

    Stoke 0-0 Everton

Everton go close at Stoke. Ramiro Funes Mori heads towards goal from a corner and would have scored but for Erik Pieters' goal-line clearance.

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

Troy Deeney is rested by Watford today so no tried and tested 4-4-2 for the Hornets. Instead, Odion Ighalo is up top by himself, with Etienne Capoue in support.

No goals for Capoue so far this season, but he was lively against Chelsea on Wednesday. Could this be the game he gets off the mark?

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

    Newcastle 0-0 West Brom

Newcastle have started firmly on the front foot at St James' Park. West Brom digging in like an Alabama tick. Andros Townsend's shot from 25 yards is palmed away by Ben Foster, who then saves superbly from Aleksandar Mitrovic from close range.

  20. Martinez's movespublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2016

    Stoke v Everton (15:00 GMT)

If Roberto Martinez is giving his team his pre-match teamtalk right about now, he might be forgiven for suddenly busting out a little dance - Stoke have just put out a bit of Jason Derulo over the speaker system, just for the Everton boss' benefit.
