What a miss! Kieran Tripper - who has his own personal channel out on the Spurs right - picks out Harry Kane with a testing low cross and Harry Kane gets it all wrong, the ball hits him in the shins! He's relieved to see the offside flag raised.

You can see why George Moncur is sought after in the Colchester midfield. He is always demanding the ball and looking to get at the Spurs back four. This particular dribble is a good one but he can't find a pass through the eye of a needle and Kieran Trippier cuts it out.

Nabil Bentaleb miscues a cross and almost gets lucky as Jake Kean tips it over the top before Gavin Massey gets away with passing the ball straight to Harry Kane.

Tom Carroll then shoots over from 15 yards - Spurs have had 14 shots on goal already...

Colchester with the worst defence in the Football League, and shorn of their two centre-halves inside 20 minutes, may have taken this scoreline after 35 minutes.

Decent game this now. Eric Dier has to defend stoutly to first block a Darren Ambrose shot and then head a swirling cross away. Dier is back at centre-half today after a season in midfield. Colchester having a go!

Colchester have a spell of possession but it almost comes back to bite them as Harry Kane rolls his defender on halfway and then sends Christian Eriksen away through the middle. He is in on goal but shoots narrowly over!

It's been all Spurs but one ball over the top causes chaos at the back for Tottenham as Michel Vorm drops the ball right on the edge of the area! He just about gets away with it but in the maelstrom Kieran Trippier takes a whack to the head and needs treatment. A bad day for defenders so far.

Tottenham have had 65% of the early possession but the League One stragglers have reached 20 minutes without conceding.
