Should the FA Cup be changed?

Harry Partridge: Keep replays except for when both sides are from PL. Small clubs don't lose revenue, big clubs can concentrate on Europe etc.

Fqiren: Keep FA Cup replays. If not there's no difference with the league cup.

Nic Lewis: Replays can be romantic but they severely affect the form of clubs in every division. They add to the workload of Prem clubs but for clubs in lower leagues they're hugely exciting.

This is another Premier League v Championship tie and the first ever cup meeting between Watford and Leeds.

Well-run Watford have gained plenty of plaudits on their return to the top flight and lie 12 points above the relegation zone with 12 games to go. No chance of them going down.

For Leeds, it has been another season of in-fighting and mediocrity, lying 16th in the Championship - in no man's land.

Big shock if they beat the Hornets today.

Reading v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton
Match of the Day commentator at Madejski Stadium

"Reading went all the way to the semi-final last year before losing to Arsenal at Wembley and another quarter-final appearance would provide welcome cheer in what has been a largely frustrating season.

"They've lost their way after making a promising start, winning only three league games since the middle of October, and now sit 15th in the Championship.

"West Brom haven't made the most of winnable home draws so far, needing replays to get past both Bristol City and Peterborough.

"And the last time they lost in the cup against lower league opposition was when they played at Reading five years ago."

Should the FA Cup be changed?

Elliott, York: The only change the FA Cup needs is in the semi final! Playing at Wembley ruins the magic of the final, should be held in a different neutral ground, plenty nice ones!

JP Levahn: FA Cup is all about playing outside your comfort zone. And replays are a part of that. The fear or excitement of having to do it all again but at a lower league pitch. Adds drama and a bit of mystery to the modern game.

Former Stoke winger Matthew Etherington on BBC Radio 5 live: "Tony Pulis takes the FA Cup seriously and we got to the final with him. West Brom aren’t in the best form at the minute, and Reading will feel they have a chance, but I played under Tony and he was fantastic with me.

"We trained every single day, and the last 15 minutes of every session he would work on our shape so we were drilled within an inch of where you needed to be. The way he sets teams up - and this is no criticism of him - it might not be the best to watch but it’s about results and he gets them. With him. There are no rules in the final third, he just wants his teams to be solid."

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

"West Brom ended their poor run with a battling win against Everton at Goodison Park last weekend.

"I am sure Baggies boss Tony Pulis will juggle his squad to some extent but I don't think a cup run will damage their survival prospects, because I don't think they are going down anyway."

    Prediction: 1-2

Should the FA Cup be changed

Jack Muttitt: The away goals rule should be introduced for FA Cup replays to minimise the risk of extra time and penalties...

Martin McHugh: PL killing off English football. First the national team, then the indigenous paying public and now the FA cup. Stop it!

Chris Ryan: Get rid of FA Cup replays. Too many games as it is so should be decided in one game

"I'll pick a strong team, a team to win the game. The FA Cup is important for me."

Jack , Blackburn - I would stick with replays , it gives smaller clubs a lot more money for example Cambridge last season when they went to Old Trafford or Exeter this season when they went to Anfield.

"Tony Pulis is someone I have really admired over the years. He gets good results and he has done really well as a manager.

"He will play to the strengths of his team."

Fifteenth in the Championship plays 14th in the Premier League, safe to say that neither of these two sides are having the best of seasons in the league.

The FA Cup will provide a welcome distraction to largely frustrating seasons though and with a last-eight place on offer, it could provide some much needed cheer.

"This is the third year in a row that Arsenal have played Hull in the FA Cup, and a repeat of the 2014 final, and I think it will also be the third year in a row that the Gunners end up on top.

"It is an attractive tie for Hull, but they are top of the Championship and promotion is their priority - they can see the pot of gold."

"It's been a while since Arsenal last experienced defeat in the FA Cup.

"That was three years ago to the week at the hands of Championship side Blackburn, but they have since embarked on 14 consecutive wins in the competition - just two shy of the record which they jointly hold.

"Arsenal will start as favourites - as long as they are not too distracted by the impending visit of Barcelona on Tuesday."

Former West Ham and Stoke winger Matthew Etherington on Radio 5 live: "The last few years up to the FA Cup win over Hull hadn’t been great for Arsene Wenger.

"I think it will take him to walk rather than be sacked. He’s been a fantastic manager, and I think this year is all about winning the league; that will be his main objective."

This will be Arsene Wenger's 100th game in the competition.

"At that time I could never imagine I would play 100 FA Cup games," said the Frenchman.

"It is a privilege, because 100 is quite a big number and we have done well in the FA Cup most of the time. I want to defend my record."
