Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, speaking to MOTD: "It was a difficult game for us. We started really brightly but they scored a superb goal out of nowhere, that dented our confidence and we never recaptured that start.

"For you to win games at this level we need everyone to be on song and today we weren't.

"We have to respond very quickly next week. Our home form has not been as good as would like. We know the difficulty of the league we are in and teams have the ability to hit us on counter attacks, but as long as we get enough points to stay up, it doesn't matter where we get them."

"After Tuesday night (FA Cup replay against Liverpool) when we played 120 minutes to show that kind of strength and resilience and character and quality makes us happy.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman speaking to MOTD: "You hope for that kind of performance. First of all, it was good organisation and we defended well. 

"For sure, we are totally confident in our defence and we know we have the players who can create chances. It was a fantastic performance.

"It was a well deserved three points. We have a great run at the moment. It's a pity we have a break. 

"But it's becoming a great season for us."

Ronald Koeman says Southampton are having a "great season again" after a 1-0 victory at Swansea City lifted them up to sixth place in the Premier League.
