Well, here's a turn-up. Paris St-Germain, unbeaten in Ligue 1 all season, trail in Lyon. Maxwel Cornet controls a diagonal pass, cuts inside and strikes a lovely shot into the far corner.

    Italian Serie A

The giant scoreboard in the Juventus Stadium tells us this game between the two Serie A high-fliers has just passed the half-hour mark. More importantly it tells us that no-one has gained an upper hand.

Inter seem to have weathered that early Juve storm, now passing the ball out of defence confidently.

    Barcelona 1-1 Sevilla

A hearty round of applause greets the half-time whistle at the Nou Camp. The Catalan hosts are not winning, but the home crowd appreciates what has been a decent Sunday evening's entertainment so far.

Sevilla led through Vitolo's far-post volley, before Lionel Messi equalised with a sumptuous free-kick.

John McEnerney: Treble again for Barcelona, the rest aren't close to them, I mean in Europe not just La Liga. Bayern Munich on their best night might trouble them.

sViera: Buffon has been great forever. Who's better? Khan vs Buffon. Casillas vs Buffon. Neuer vs Buffon. Legendary GK.

Into the final few moments of the first half. It has flown by! Neymar takes a tumble on the edge of the Sevilla area, clutching his shoulder after landing awkwardly. He's alright.

    Barcelona 1-1 Sevilla

Sevilla are struggling to open their front door at the moment, camped inside their house like a recluse.

Finally they do boot the ball clear, long into the Barcelona half. That set ups a footrace between Kevin Gameiro and Jordi Alba, the footballing equivalent of Usain Bolt v Justin Gatlin.

Alba gets over the line first in a photo finish, barging his opponent off the ball and then turning to accelerate back up the other end of the pitch...

  11. CLOSE!published at 20:08

    Barcelona 1-1 Sevilla

Lionel Messi is finding his groove nicely. Barca's skipper for the night bursts into space in the left channel of the Sevilla box, firing a fierce low shot that Sergio Rico blocks with his legs.

    Lionel Messi (31 mins)

Punished. Concede a free-kick anywhere just outside your area and it is almost as good as penalty for Barcelona.

Unsurprising Neymar leaves the set-piece to Lionel Messi, who curls in a delicious left-footed strike into the opposite top corner. Stunning.

Uh oh...danger danger for Sevilla. Adil Rami concedes a free-kick right on the edge of his box, earning a booking for his trouble. Lionel Messi and Neymar stand over the ball....

    Juventus 0-0 Inter Milan

You might not be surprised to hear that, in Italy, in-form leaders Juventus are all over Inter Milan like an annoying rash.

The Bianconeri have dominated the opening 10 minutes, but are yet to make a breakthrough. But they should have done. Mario Mandzukic squares for strike partner  Paulo Dybala but the Argentine is unable to stick his shot on target.

One player not available for Paris St-Germain to select today is Serge Aurier.

The champions have ordered their right-back to train with the reserve team - who play in France's third tier - for the next month for making homophobic comments about boss Laurent Blanc in an online video.

He has already missed their recent games after being suspended until PSG made their decision.

Blanc said: "He will rejoin the first-team squad, but will be available for the reserves until that time."

It's a matter of when, not if, Paris St-Germain win their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title. Laurent Blanc's side came into this weekend 24 points clear of Monaco at the top.

"We are very motivated for the match against Lyon, who are one of France's best sides, who dominated the championship for a long time and boast a very colourful president," Blanc said.

"We will also be playing in their new stadium for the first time... these are all factors that motivate us. It's a special match. I hope we will be as determined for all our upcoming matches because our mission is always to win, home or away."
