Talk Sense Man!: Everyone wants to see Leicester win the title - fine, but not today please. Sunderland’s need is greater.

David Thackeray: Leicester looking nervous. If they lose this they could easily lose a couple more. Season not over yet...

    Sunderland 0-0 Leicester

We have just seen a replay of Sunderland's penalty appeal.

They have got a good case. It was Leicester's Robert Huth sliding in to cut out Patrick van Anholt's low cross and the ball hits his trailing hand.

Jermain Defoe was lurking in the path of van Aanholt's pass and might well have had a shot of goal.

Sunderland striker Fabio Borini (9) is looking isolated as our average position graphic shows; Leicester's front two of Jamie Vardy (9) and Shinji Okazaki (20) not so much.

Chris, Wimbledon: Mahrez having a shocker here. How many times has he given the ball away!?

Leicester's kingpin was off his best against Southampton last weekend as well.

  5. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 36 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Leicester

    Sunderland growing in belief.

Patrick van Anholt skips to the byeline and has a host of options waiting for the pull-back.

A Leicester defender slides in to block. And does.

But has he used his hand? Not according to referee Anthony Taylor.

Younes Kaboul snaps his neck muscles into a header, but the defender's header would have needed to an absolute bullet to trouble Kasper Schmeichel from out near the edge of the box.

After the opening salvos, it is a little tighter now.

Lots of midfield scuffles and scrape. N'Golo Kante gives away a foul as he catches Yann M'Vila midway though his own half.

Jermain Defoe is in the land of giants as he finds himself competing for a long ball forward with Robert Huth and Wes Morgan.

Not his game that. Huth thumps a meaty header clear and Sunderland's best chance remains getting the ball down and playing in behind the Foxes.

David Bresnahan: Sunderland have stayed up with Di Canio, Poyet and Advocaat. It would be crazy if they went down with Big Sam. Escape starts now.

Woodpekka: Great to see Kaboul and Defoe doing their best to help Spurs. Keep it up fellas!

Josh: The nerve shredding experience begins here. Come on Leicester!

Christian Fuchs barges into Fabio Borini as the pair meet for round two of their personal tussle down the Leicester left.

Referee Anthony Taylor levels things up in his notebook, giving Fuchs a yellow.

One straight off the training ground play-book as a Leicester corner is chopped back to the edge of the area and a loitering Danny Drinkwater.

His effort is well-hit but wide.

  12. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 25 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Leicester

Leicester are not demanding a penalty, but they sure are asking the question of referee Anthony Taylor.

The official played a good advantage to allow Marc Albrighton to play on after he shrugged off the grappling Jan Kirchoff, but rules that there is no foul as DeAndre Yedlin whacks the ribs of Shinji Okazaki with a high foot in the box.

No malicious intent, but Yedlin got zero ball.

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Everton winger at the Stadium of Light for BBC Radio 5 live

"It's been a very good game of football so far, the skill levels have been very high and there's been some superb commitment as well. Jermain Defoe and Wahbi Khazri are starting to look dangerous for Sunderland, and there's been a few tasty tackles too. Borini definitely deserved his yellow card."

    Ohh!

A collective suck of air from the home fans as Yann M'Vila's searching loft into the box is little more than a stud's length from a sliding Wahbi Khazri.

Fabio Borini pinballs from one challenge to another as he presses high, but his enthusiasm finally gets the better of him as he clatters Christian Fuchs with a late sliding tackle.

    Yellow.

Sunderland's midfield really is a collection of beaties and beasts. Wahbi Khazri darts through the middle, all quick feet and dropped shoulders, while Lee Cattermole and Yann M'Vila do the dirty work behind.

Peter Coleman: If Leicester don't win, then we'll see what they're made of. But can you really see Sunderland upsetting the apple cart?

Ruairi Ward: The defensive signings of Klose and Kirchoff in Jan are the reason that Norwich and Sunderland have pulled away from Newcastle.

Dennis Ethan: Come on you Foxes! Don't bottle it please.

  18. CHANCE!published at 15 mins

    Sunderland 0-0 Leicester

     Free header!

And Leicester would not have wanted it to fall to many players other than Wes Morgan.

The ball screws awkwardly off the skipper's head and wide though from just eight yards out.

There were men on each post and Vito Mannone to beat, but he should have done better.

Sunderland almost get caught with the classic Leicester counter.

Danny Drinkwater picks a pocket in midfield, Jamie Vardy lays the ball off to Shinji Okazaki and scampers into the penalty area in search of a return.

The Japan international's cross is blocked by the stretching Younes Kaboul who has started well.

Riyad Mahrez gets some chalk on his boots, stretching play out on the left wing.

His cross picks out Jamie Vardy, but it would have been one heck of a header to beat Vito Mannone from 15 yards out.

Instead the ball flies a couple of yards over.
