In the recent past a duel between Chelsea and Manchester City, at this time of the season, would have been hyped up in the week(s) leading to the fixture.

This one wasn't. And rightly so.

Chelsea, are now "mid-tablers", and on Saturday played like one. They have a manager whose tenure comes to an end soon, and it could be that some of the playing staff will also have new jobs by next season.

City, on the back of securing a Champions League semi-final spot, have rediscovered their mojo. As has Sergio Aguero, who bagged a hat-trick.

    Good timing.

Matt Price: As a Liverpool fan, I'd say a McVities digestive. Tastes awesome (much like the attack) but is a bit frail (like the defence)

George Goddard: Leeds would be a rich tea biscuit- well known brand, but capitulates under any kind of pressure and falls below expectations

No doubt this shrine below will grow in size as the day progresses because it's hard to digest - pun intended - the seismic impact on the British public of seeing biscuits being wasted.

With that in mind, we are asking you:

If your team was a biscuit, what would it be and why?

Yup. Manchester United didn't play well against the worst team in the Premier League.

However, it was a win and they are only three points behind fourth-place Arsenal, although they've played one game more.

If it is to be believed that Jose Mourinho will take over next season, but United finish in a Champions League spot then perhaps... just perhaps... it would be seen a bit harsh to have dumped the Dutchman.

Better the devil you know, and all that.

The players are devastated - Eric Black

Aston Villa caretaker manager Eric Black looked on the bright side after his side finally learned that they will not be playing in the top flight next season with a 1-0 loss at Manchester United.

"It's a mood of disappointment. What I will say is today I thought [the Villa players] were outstanding - energy levels, desire to stick to the plan," said Black.

I guess he's had time to digest what was inevitable.

Centre-back Joleon Lescott - officially not up for the fans' player of the year - said:

"Now it's confirmed maybe it's a weight off the shoulders and we can give these fans what they deserve, some performances."

    Strange quote.

Jacck: Went 2-0 up at half-time - conceded from two dodgy free kicks. We get a red. I score the last minute winner and we win 3-2.

Thomas Hague: Under-16 cup semi-final,3-2 down to a team in division above. Last minute and our striker charges down a goal kick, gets fouled, we score penalty and win shootout.

Perhaps it's not quite time to panic, but after two successive wins it's now two successive defeats.

The Canaries travel to Arsenal next and then host Manchester United.

"The two teams are still chasing us, we're still a point ahead. We need to win games and that's always been the case," said Neil.

They seemed down and out after the 3-1 defeat at Southampton, but now they are... well... less so.

The crowd still need more convincing but a 3-0 win over Swansea, who had to break off scanning the net for summer holiday deals to attend the match, was a very timely boost.

Coupled with S**der**nd's win, it was a great day for the Magpies fans and a very happy 56th birthday for manager Rafael Benitez.

Sunderland coped with the pressure - Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce has a habit of dragging teams off the floor and he could be at it again at Sunderland.

This one has been a slow burner ever since he took over in October, but perhaps it's going right for him and the club at the right time.

The 3-0 win at Carrow Road was what the doctor ordered.

The gap between themselves and Norwich is now one point and they also have a game in hand.

"Will we handle the pressure? Will we cope with the pressure? They've answered my questions," said Allardyce.
