Sheyi Ojo clips a beautifully weighted ball into the path of Daniel Sturridge, and the Liverpool striker doesn't have to break stride as he clips a first time effort with the outside of his boot. It arcs over Lukasz Fabianski and lands just the wrong side of the post. Great effort.

As we ticked into the 27th minute, the crowd - both Liverpool and Swansea fans - unleashed a rousing burst of applause to mark the 27 years that the Hillsborough families had to wait for justice.

And from the free kick, Swansea should be 2-0 up! Jordi Amat is left alone and glances his header over the bar from close range. Should have scored.

Brad Smith pulls back Wayne Routledge and goes into the book.

Liverpool are on the rocks here. Neil Taylor, on the overlap, pulls the ball back to Jack Cork on the edge of the area and his low drive is on target, but Danny Ward saves excellently with his feet.

Can Liverpool respond? This largely second-string line-up has looked a little nervy so far. Daniel Sturridge shows some good feet on the edge of the area to open up a shooting chance, but he's then poleaxed by Jordi Amat. Somehow, the referee decides that's not worthy of a free kick.

"Swansea's goal is something of a collector's item, coming as it did from a corner.

"Set-pieces have been a blight on the Swans' season, with head coach Francesco Guidolin bemoaning his side's brittle defending from corners and free-kicks.

Swansea are turning up the heat on this makeshift Liverpool defence. The ball breaks fortuitously for Andre Ayew, but he shanks his volley well wide.

Liverpool give possession away in a dangerous area and Gylfi Sigurdsson unleashes a shot. Ward is behind it.

A first sight of goal for Daniel Sturridge as Jordon Ibe clips a cross in from the left. Sturridge twists and meets it on the volley but the ball squirts wide.

Liverpool are growing into this. Some tenacious tackling in the centre of the park wins possession, and they press forward through Kevin Stewart and Daniel Sturridge, before Brad Smith's attempted headed pass goes astray.
