"I'm surprised Eden Hazard isn't starting. Chelsea have stuck by him when he has not been at his best. He scored two goals last week and he doesn't start tonight."

  2. 'Chelsea don't want a Spurs title'published at 19:25 British Summer Time 2 May 2016

    Alan Shearer
    Ex-England captain

"Chelsea have nothing to play for in terms of league position but, as some of their players have already said, they do not want Spurs to go there and win, and would love it if their London rivals miss out on the title.

"So it will be a very tough game for Mauricio Pochettino's side. Leicester have done their bit, now it is over to Tottenham and we will find out if they can respond."

Before the internet in 1989 I was away in Sydney. My mum wrote to me from England with good news that Arsenal had won 2-0 at Old Trafford thanks to two goals from Tony Adams. A month or so later when we caught up with the English papers I learned that my mum was right. Tony did indeed get both goals, one at each end in a 1-1 draw.

"I understand Leicester's players are holed up at Jamie Vardy's house. I can tell you whatever happens no one at Leicester City will be allowed to comment tonight if they win the title. One hopes that if Leicester win the title we will get to hear from the silver fox [Claudio Ranieri] tomorrow."

It seems Jamie Vardy is quite literally having a party as Christian Fuchs and Robert Huth swing by to watch the game.

Or, it's just Monday night. Poker, ribs and the Rocky box set. Good times...

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a game we must win, this is true, we want to be alive in the title race. There is no other option.

"We need to play our game. We know it's very important."

On Son Heung-min starting: "He is a very fast player and he has been training very well in the last few weeks. We have different option. Why not Son?"

"The latest news we have got is that Claudio Ranieri touched down a couple of minutes ago at East Midlands Airport. That's a long way from Stamford Bridge. Even though Ranieri has a home in Knightsbridge, maybe he is going to his flat in Leicester to watch the game."

Regale me with your tales of following football from afar...

Watched Chelsea win the champions league at 6am in a karaoke bar in Tokyo. Managed to find some Japanese Bayern fans who took us to the Sumo national championship final that afternoon...true gents.

    Louis, London

Was on a trip to Nepal during the World Cup in 2014. I was trekking for 11 days and at each place we stayed at we were with different people from around the world, people got up each night to watch the matches around tiny TVs. We all spoke different languages but were united by football and wanting our country to win! Hearing the final result 3,000 feet up was a novelty

    Alice, London

Alice, write that up for Fifa's manifesto. Fantastic.

There is a rogue rumour that Claudio has chartered an earlier flight and might be at Stamford Bridge after all this evening.

    A one-man pitch invasion?

    Chaos on the back pages...

You can follow the snooker here if you want.

Final whistle at Stamford Bridge will be at about 9.50. Mark Selby needs four more frames, starting at 7.00. Assuming both results favour the East Midlands, what price Selby sinking the winning pot just as the ref blows up in the Spurs game? That truly WOULD be unbelievable!

It's not often that a team wins the Premier League without playing - but let's go back to 2 May, 1993. There were two games of the inaugural Premier League season remaining and the title race was about to be decided.

However, the scene of victory would not be Old Trafford but Mottram Hall, a golf course in Cheshire.

Sir Alex Ferguson was desperate to secure his first English league title and Manchester United's first since 1967, but to escape the tension the day before United played Blackburn, he had gone to play golf rather than watch their only remaining challengers, Aston Villa, play Oldham live on TV.

As Ferguson describes it, he was on the 17th green when a car screeched to a halt nearby and he heard footsteps on a gravel path.

"A man I didn't know came over the hill with a huge smile on his face and said: 'Excuse me Mr Ferguson, you are the champions. Oldham have won at Villa.'"

  16. Hazard warningpublished at 19:05 British Summer Time 2 May 2016

    Chelsea v Tottenham (20:00 BST)

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard is not playing tonight, just a few weeks after he said he and his team-mates do not want Tottenham to win the Premier League.

"The fans, the club, the players, we don't want Tottenham to win the Premier League," Hazard, 25, told BBC's Match of the Day programme.

"We hope for Leicester because they deserve to be champions this season."
