    Wolves 0-0 Birmingham

Birmingham's former Wolves midfielder David Davis is the first man into the referee's notebook for a strong challenge on Matt Doherty.

Nathan Byrne's delivery from the free-kick is poor, and we remain goalless.

Trying to win a derby fixture is never a walk in the park - but while Wolves and Birmingham go through the opening exchanges at sunny Molineux, that's exactly what entrants at Cruft's dog show are being given just a few miles away.

Birmingham keeper Tomasz Kuszczak is drawn into his second save of the game, as he dives to his right to keep out Conor Coady's deflected effort from distance.

Bjorn Sigurdarson's height is causing the Birmingham defence a few problems, with most of Wolves' attacking threat coming from the Icelandic forward.

  6. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 10 mins

Birmingham are growing into this game after Wolves had had the better of the opening five minutes.

Blues have yet to fashion a shot on goal, but Clayton Donaldson is looking a handful up front.

  7. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 6 mins

    Big chance for Conor Coady.

Bjorn Sigurdarson wins a corner, and Coady has a free header from Jeremy Helan's delivery.

The midfielder doesn't make good contact, though, and it's an easy save for Tomasz Kuszczak.

  8. Wolves 0-0 Birminghampublished at 3 mins

The first shot of the game, though it's quite a tame one.

Wolves Bjorn Sigurdarson flicks the ball on, but Nathan Byrne puts his right-footed effort well wide of Tomasz Kuszczak's goal.

Saturday's action saw Burnley move seven points clear at the top of the table with a 3-1 victory at Huddersfield Town.

At the other end of the table, Rotherham boosted their chances of survival with a stunning fightback from three goals down to draw at play-off chasing Derby County.

Meanwhile, Hull missed out on a chance to leapfrog Middlesbrough into second as they were held to a 1-1 draw by MK Dons, while Sheffield Wednesday moved up to sixth by beating Nottingham Forest 3-0.

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has been in charge at Molineux since June 2013, while Gary Rowett moved to Birmingham from Burton Albion in October of the following year.

Jackett has the slightly higher win percentage - 47.86% to Rowett's 43.84%, but the former Wales international spent a season in League One with Wolves before leading them to promotion.

Wolves v Birmingham City (13:15 GMT)

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett makes two changes to the starting line-up for Tuesday's 2-1 win over Bristol City.

Bjorn Sigurdarson comes in for Joe Mason up front, with Jack Price taking over from Kevin McDonald in midfield.

There are two changes for Blues as well after their 2-0 loss at Blackburn, with former Wolves midfielder David Davis replacing Jacques Maghoma in midfield and Jonathan Spector returning to the defence, with Paul Robinson dropping to the bench.

Victory for Wolves would see them climb a place to 12th in the table, but still 10 points outside the play-offs, while Blues can leapfrog Ipswich into eighth if they take the points.

Wolves: Ikeme, Iorfa, Batth, Hause, Doherty, Price, Coady, Saville, Byrne, Sigurdarson, Helan.

Subs: Martinez, Deslandes, Rowe, McDonald, Hunte, Mason, Zyro.

Birmingham: Kuszczak, Caddis, Morrison, Spector, Grounds, Kieftenbeld, Gleeson, Davis, Cotterill, Toral, Donaldson.

Subs: Legzdins, Robinson, Fabbrini, Maghoma, Arthur, Buckley, Shotton.

Football managers don't like talking about revenge, but maybe Blues fans see it differently following their 2-0 defeat by Wolves at St Andrew's on the final day of October.

Goals by Dave Edwards and Sheyi Ojo enabled Wolves to end a three-match losing run. and Blues boss Gary Rowett criticised his players for failing to "show the quality we required".

Birmingham cannot afford a repeat of that performance as they look to close a  five-point gap which has opened up between them and sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

  18. That's your funeralpublished at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2016

It promises to be sobering occasion at The Valley with some Charlton fans planning to carry a coffin to the ground before kick-off as part of their ongoing protest against owner Roland Duchatelet - and Middlesbrough having to manage without head coach Aitor Karanka, who is thinking over his future after a row, leaving number two Steve Agnew in charge.

But before that, there is plenty to keep us occupied with the small matter of a West Midlands derby at Molineux.

  19. When the going gets tough, the tough get goingpublished at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2016

So, the business end of the Championship campaign is upon us with pressure mounting at both ends of the table.

Today's double-header is points-crucial for three of the teams involved, while the fourth - with no real prospect of reaching the summit, nor apparently, in serious danger of falling through the trap-door to League One - have the incentive of trying to secure local derby bragging rights.

First up, it's mid-table Wolves at home to ninth-placed Birmingham City, now five points adrift of the play-off places.

Then, next-to-bottom Charlton play host to Middlesbrough, who have suddenly found themselves caught up in a management crisis, as they look to reach the promised land of the Premier League via automatic promotion.
