Ben, Norwich: Winning the FA Cup is a fantastic achievement that most clubs would be ecstatic to accomplish, never mind three times in a row. Arsenal fans should not get complacent like other clubs and should always remember there is no divine right on the title.

Tell you what, Gabriel is a very lucky boy. We're seeing replays of his challenge on Troy Deeney again. Both feet on the floor? Check. Landed on Deeney's shin? Check. Ref two yards away? Check.

Andre Marriner didn't even blow for a foul though. Odd. Perhaps he was thinking about something else. Tonight's dinner. The US presidential election. The ultimate futility of life. We can only guess.

Carrick Cameron: Still time for Arsenal to score 4 in the second half. Just wait and see...

Matthew Parsons: Every arsenal home game is the same at the moment, total dominance, poor last ball, opposition get lucky goal with first shot.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2016

    Arsenal 0-0 Watford

That's the interval - Arsenal very much on top, but they haven't been able to find the breakthrough.

Mesut Ozil dinks a delicate free-kick into the box and Alexis Sanchez is on the end of it, but he's bolted too early, like an over-eager greyhound, and the flag goes up.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45 mins

A first booking of the day, and it goes to Watford keeper Costel Pantilimon, for time-wasting.

  10. CLOSE!published at 44 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Watford

Another great chance! Elneny pings a through-ball towards Joel Campbell and a sliding Watford deflects the ball nicely into his path. It sits up perfectly, but the Costa Rican prods it over. Should have scored.

"You have to hit the target. Leaning back like that, Mohamed Elneny was never going to hit anything other than row Z behind the goal. When he's got in those advanced roles he's looked exactly like a defensive midfielder."

Arsenal in a nutshell. Would have been sensational, ended up in the stands. Mesut Ozil does absolutely superb to wriggle his way away from two defenders on the right-hand edge of the box, then lays it off to Campbell, who touches it back to Elneny, who...blasts it over. Anti-climax.

That's Chambers' best cross of the afternoon! He's had a few chances but this time he finally gets his delivery right and Alexis Sanchez so nearly gets his head to it before the Watford defender.

"Troy Deeney is telling Odion Ighalo just to shoot when he gets the ball. 'Don't pass to me and just get on with it.' Deeney must be seeing the same things we are. Igahlo looks like a striker who needs a goal."

Mesut Ozil scampers into the box and there's danger for Watford. Sebastian Prodl slides in - he has to get it just right and he does, winning the ball cleanly.

It's not happening for Odion Ighalo at the moment. Again he's found by a great channel ball and faces up the Arsenal defence, but once again he tries to find Deeney and the pass is poor. He beats the ground in frustration. 2/10 for the pass, 8/10 for the display of fury that followed.

Oh, what a chance! Watford press up after a corner and are caught out when Mertesacker pings the ball back in towards Mohamed Elneny, who has timed his run perfectly. He has a clear sight of goal but shanks it horribly.

"Gabriel gets there with his left foot and follows through with his right. I don't think he's gone to do Troy Deeney - it's a real 50-50 - but because of the nature of the challenge... I've seen players go off for that. He's lucky."
