  1. Martinez hails 'great' Lukakupublished at 10:45

    Everton 2-0 Chelsea

Everton manager Roberto Martinez overcame his usual sense of restraint and hyperbole avoidance to acclaim Romelu Lukaku's goal as "one of the great goals we will see in the FA Cup".

"It is a fantastic feeling, more than anything the atmosphere that was created," Martinez added. "Every one of us will take it away. Today was the complete feeling."

Bite, whisper, or full-on smooch? Watch the video and make up your own minds.

I've seen it over and over (not in a weird way) and I still can't decide. Bar-room brawl, or nightclub nuzzle? I'm so very, very confused...

  3. 'Diego expressed his regret'published at 10:35

    Everton 2-0 Chelsea

Costa, not one to come over all Edith Piaf, apparently expressed his regret to Chelsea officials after the match.

"Diego spoke to club officials and expressed regret over his reaction to the challenge from Barry that led to his red card," a club spokesman said.

"But Diego was also very clear that he did not bite him at any point during that altercation."

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink - and folks, this may shock you - did not see the incident.

"It is difficult for me to say yes or no so I don't want to give judgement on this," he added.

There was controversy in last bite's game - sorry, sorry, last night's game, as Everton knocked out Chelsea 2-0.

Romelu Lukaku scored an absolute worldie, then added another with a low drive, but it still wasn't enough to get his face on the back page of the papers.

No, that face was of course the heavily stubbled visage of Diego Costa, who, in a totally uncharacteristic fit of pique, squared up to Gareth Barry and was then sent off after appearing to bite the Everton midfielder.

Normally such a nice young man...

Yes, while things might be going a little bit pear-shaped for Arsene Wenger in the league, in the cup he can do no wrong.

The Gunners are 15 games unbeaten in the competition, and are three wins from a historic three-peat - something no side has managed since Blackburn Rovers beat West Bromwich Albion in 1886.

Not only that, but victory in this year's competition would be Wenger's seventh triumph, making him the most successful manager in the history of the FA Cup.
