Goodison Park is bright and breezy today. In the air, in the stands and on the pitch. For the first time in a while, there is little tension among the home fans following Roberto Martinez's sacking. And on a sunny day in Liverpool the players are responding. Kevin Mirallas speeds into the Norwich box, slicing into the side-netting.

Wonderful play! Alexis Sanchez picks the ball up wide on the left, he cuts inside two defenders and goes to bend one into the far corner but puts it inches wide.

Moments later Jack Wilshere volleys into the side netting.

Swansea winger Jefferson Montero plays an absolutely horrendous backpass which Kelechi Iheanacho latches onto but the young Manchester City striker fires it over.

He could have had a hat-trick in the opening half an hour. Much more lively than his strike partner Sergio Aguero.

The Saints are, er, trotting on. Southampton are not quite marching on, but they are doing most of the probing. No shots on target for either side yet. Saints still seventh as it stands, despite that Liverpool equaliser at West Brom.

If Tottenham don't even finish second it will be some fall from grace. And Newcastle continue to pile on the pressure, Jack Colback slides a shot wide. 

A further tweet from Manchester United: "Those inside Old Trafford are asked to remain seated while the forecourt is cleared of fans already evacuated from the stadium.  

"Further announcements will be made as soon as possible."

Close again for Chelsea as they continue to pose a real threat. Bertrand Traore takes an air shot after a cross is half cleared.

United have now tweeted the confirmation that the game is off.

Kelechi Iheanacho should probably make it 2-0 to Manchester City. Kevin de Bruyne picks out the young Nigerian, who tries to shuffle the ball onto his left foot, but loses the chance to shoot in the process. The ball ends up with Sergio Aguero but he can't do anything with it.

There are still thousands of fans inside Old Trafford's East Stand and also in the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand and the announcement has just been made over the PA that this game has been abandoned because of a security alert.

Bournemouth's fans are not happy and chant "Champions League You're Having A Laugh" - but the authorities really have no alternative in a situation like this.
