Newcastle 1-0 Tottenham
Newcastle 1-0 Tottenham
This is probably Newcastle's best first 24 minutes of the season. Timing.
Newcastle 1-0 Tottenham
BBC Newcastle's NUFC summariser John Anderson: "Good goal, good lay-off from Mitrovic and Wijnaldum slides it well into the corner. Tottenham look a little lethargic to me."
Giorginio Wijnaldum
This is really weird. Newcastle lead.
Georginio Wijnaldum scores his 10th of the season after a great move.
Daryl Janmaat's ball from the right finds Moussa Sissoko in the area. He lays the ball into Aleksandar Mitrovic, who in turn finds the Dutchman who slots in.
Worse for Tottenham, as it stands they will finish third behind Arsenal.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Newcastle playing for their Premier League lives... er...
Both Moussa Sissoko and Cheick Tiote produce great sliding tackles in defence.
A packed St James' Park is singing to the rafters.
This is weird.
The game at Old Trafford is called off before kick off after a suspect package is found.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Daryl Janmaat plays a low ball into the six-yard area and Aleksandar Mitrovic's close range effort is blocked.
The Serb perhaps could have done better.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Arsenal lead Villa 1-0, but as it stands Spurs still remain in second on goal difference with both sides on 71 points.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
The home fans are still chanting Rafa Benitez's name. That's now six minutes.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Spurs' Christian Eriksen has had a pop from 25 yards - but he slices the ball and it goes well, well wide.
Tottenham have started better.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
The home fans are chanting Rafa Benitez's name straight from kick off.
They want their manager to stay. He has a big decision to make in the coming weeks - can he handle managing a team at Burton Albion?
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham

The teams are coming out on the tunnel - it's a bright sunny day on Tyneside, which is of little consolation to Magpies fans.

Alistair Mann
MOTD commentator at St James' Park
"There couldn't be a greater contrast between these two clubs. For Spurs, there's burgeoning potential, stability and optimism, while for Newcastle there's an overwhelming feeling of uncertainty and palpable anxiety.
"While Mauricio Pochettino has extended his stay at White Hart Lane, the board at St James' Park are trying to convince Rafa Benitez that the challenge of reinvigorating Newcastle is an attractive proposition, with many would-be suitors circling overhead.
"The match itself does have significance for the visitors, who certainly don't want to give up their hard earned runners-up spot to Arsenal on the final day.
"While a draw would ensure that milestone, a victory would also give them their highest ever Premier League points haul."

Still in the balance is the race for the Premier League golden boot and we are set for a final day shootout between the league's top marksman.
Tottenham's Harry Kane is in pole position with 25 to his name.
But hot on his heels are Leicester's Jamie Vardy and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero who have both scored 24.
Benitez heading out?
Newcastle United
Former Newcastle United captain Alan Shearer says he would be "amazed" if Rafael Benitez remained as manager of the Magpies.
Newcastle's second relegation from the Premier League in eight years was confirmed on Wednesday.
Shearer told BBC Radio 5 live: "A guy of great stature, a world-renowned coach with his CV managing in the Championship? I can't see it happening.
"I'd love to be wrong. It would be brilliant if he was to stay."
De Boer or Rafa at Goodison?
Everton
Frank de Boer is interested in becoming Everton boss and is the "right man for the job", says the Dutchman's brother.
But Ronald de Boer added: "It's not up to him to make the move, that's up to the club."
The Toffees have also been linked with Southampton boss Ronald Koeman and Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez following Roberto Martinez's sacking.
Benitez is an "almost perfect fit" for Everton, former England defender Danny Mills told BBC Radio 5 live.
He said the former Liverpool boss would be open to a return to Merseyside.
"He lives there, his family is there and he'd be happy going back," insisted Mills.

Before kick off, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez once again outlined where he stands regarding his future at St James' Park:
"When I came here I knew the size of the club. I feel the love from the fans so I’m considering the option [of staying]. We have to be sure everybody wants the same things."
Will he stay or will he go?
