  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 78 mins

    Everton 1-1 Man Utd

"Michael McIntyre's Big Show" might be delayed at this rate. I don't know whether that is good news or not but we could have extra-time.

Or not! Gerard Deulofeu sends in a wicked low cross/shot which David de Gea pushes out and then moments later Romelu Lukaku heads wide on the stretch.

    Danny Mills
Ex-Man City defender at Wembley for BBC Radio 5 live

"I have got no idea what Smalling is doing. He goes with his right foot and the only place the ball can go is towards goal.

"Just use the inside of your left foot.

"There was nothing in the cross, he was under no real pressure. It is a terrible decision."

"It was a good move by Everton. They are so much better with their build up play. A poor own goal by Chris Smalling but it was a good ball in and it is very difficult to defend."

GOAL - Everton 1-1 Man Utdpublished at 76 mins

    Chris Smalling OG

Everton are back in this game thanks to a clanger from Chris Smalling! Gerard Deulofeu offers Everton some real width and nobody closes him down. The Catalan fires in a testing cross, hard, fast and low, it's heading for Romelu Lukaku but Smalling lunges in - and gets his angles all wrong.

Smalling can only flash the ball past his own goalkeeper. Game on!

"It looked, at half time and in the first 10 minutes of the second half, like it would be easy, comfortable, for United but all of sudden that penalty miss has perked up Everton."

Marouane Fellaini chests a cross down into the path of Wayne Rooney, who sidesteps a tackle and takes aim - but it's blocked up in the air. Manchester United now back on top in this see-saw game.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

    Everton 0-1 Man Utd

Gerard Deulofeu is on for Everton, in place of Aaron Lennon. I thought he had a wonderful first half of the season actually. Can he find his form?

At the other end Marouane Fellaini spins away from Darron Gibson but Leighton Baines gets back to make a challenge.

This season I can't understand why Leighton Baines has had such a diminished role in set piece taking. It's the finest aspect of his overall game and his penalty taking record is exceptional. And yet he's given it up to Rom and then the free kick to Ross. As a senior player I feel he should be shouting the young guys down for these big moments.

Dave Payn: Can't get his hand out of the way when hit so close to him. Never a pen. Slow motion seems to fool people.

Steve C: What a great save by Phil Jagielka

PressOfficePeter: Come on, how can that be a Man Utd penalty when it hits Jagielka's arm from 12 inches?! Just pathetic, and I want Utd to WIN.

At least Everton have had a go in this second half. They have been much improved. Is it good enough though?

Just over 20 minutes remain at Wembley.

"That is a penalty. Referees will say Jagielka's arm was in a natural position but it stops a certain goal. That has to be a red card and penalty."

RETRACTION - that was not a great save by Joel Robles, it was actually a great save by Phil Jagielka!

Marouane Fellaini's shot was blocked by the hand of Jagielka, and Manchester United should have had a penalty there. An escape for Everton.

  17. De Gea's brilliance saves Man Utdpublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 23 April 2016

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

It was a contentious decision as Tim Fosu-Mensah was penalised for his challenge on Ross Barkley - but once again David de Gea rescued Manchester United with that brilliant penalty save from Romelu Lukaku,

Everton, though, have finally come to life her and the fans that jeered them off at half-time are now roaring them forward.

How has that stayed out?! Anthony Martial - obviously - is the catalyst as he skins Muhamed Besic once again and puts over a low cross. Marouane Fellaini has a shot blocked, and then a second time by Joel Robles!
