Never mind that title and top-six guff, the big talking point at Fir Park was surely Scott Brown's hair.

A week ago, it looked like something had been transplanted, Trump-like on top his head, but today it was back to the shaven marine look we have all grown (sic) to love or otherwise.

"The result last night gave us a bit of confidence and it is nice to get a good victory.

"When Motherwell pegged us back, I thought it was going to be one of those days.

"There had been talk about me having a barren spell.

"I was getting a bit of stick from a few reporters and I've shut them up now.

"There is still a long way to go in the title race and we have the distraction of the semi-final against Rangers."

    Quote Message

With Falkirk travelling to Easter Road to tackle Hibernian on Tuesday, it's imperative Peter Houston's side take all three points and keep their hopes alive of finishing in second top spot in the Championship. St Mirren are all but safe in the battle to avoid the relegation play-off spot and for new boss Alex Rae the rest of this campaign will be about assessing his squad for next season and ensuring they are up towards the top of the table.

  6. Inverness CT manager John Hughespublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    On BBC Radio Scotland

"The priority is winning today and the results go for us, we can look forward to Tuesday against Hearts.

"If not, we are in the bottom six and have to roll our sleeves up and get on with it.

"But we have a good bunch of guys and the luck has not been with us.

"With the injuries we've had, to get in the top six would be a great achievement."

  7. Fir Park Blankgatepublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

Mark McGhee has told BBC Scotland reporter Chris McLaughlin that the refusal to shake hands with Ronny Deila was a misunderstanding as he thought the Celtic coaching staff had blanked him before the game. The Motherwell had spoken to the Celtic backroom team after the game and everything had been cleared up.

    Kilmarnock v St Johnstone

St Johnstone make three changes, with Plamen Krachunov, Simon Lappin and Liam Craig starting against Kilmarnock, who have Josh Magennis starting in place of Rory McKenzie.

  9. Kilmarnock v St Johnstonepublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Quote Message

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright was not happy with the performance from his side last weekend as they lost 1-0 to Dundee United. Three changes to the side reflects this. As for Kilmarnock, just the one change and it reflects their need for goals - they are the lowest scorers in the Premiership - Josh Magennis starts in place of Rory McKenzie

An incredibly important match here for both sides, as all games seem to be at this stage of the season in the Premiership. There seems little question United are in more dire need of the victory, trailing Kilmarnock by five points at the foot of the table. There is a perception United's form has picked up, but results-wise it's still not great - three defeats from their last five in the league - and needs to improve considerably more if they're to avoid the drop. John Hughes' side are in the curious position of still being relegation candidates as well as top-six hopefuls. But only one win in seven suggests avoiding a play-off is their main priority right now

"What hurts for us is that the goal was disallowed was onside - it is a shocking decision given the importance of it.

"But I've really got no complaints as we were beaten by a very good side.

"They have been fighting every week and that was no unexpected.

"Other teams have had good seasons and, if they are in the top six at the end of the day, then good luck to them."

Celtic had total dominance and it is something I have not seen from them in recent weeks. They were hungry. Aberdeen have put up a fight this season, but that looks like that

Top-six hopes for Dundee, relegation scrap fears for Hamilton, plus an on-going dislike for one another, this is some distance from being a meaningless fixture. The Dark Blues' main problem this season has been inconsistency - patches of brilliance and goal blitzes followed by frustrating draws and defeats. For Accies, it’s more than six months since their last home win and they’ve failed to score more than a solitary goal in a match in 12 attempts. Five red cards in the last 10 meetings between these clubs are evidence of the needle that exists between them

Motherwell fail to get the point they needed to secure a top-six place. However, they remain in fourth spot and could still make it if results in the four remaining games go their way this afternoon.
