Brighton and Burnley may be looking to make it to the Premier League, but we are a step closer to finding out who will be promoted to the Championship from the third tier.

There's already been some League One action today - Walsall eased past relegation-threatened Fleetwood to take the battle for automatic promotion to the season's final day on 8 May.

Tom Bradshaw, Paul Downing and Romaine Sawyers scored to leave Burton needing a point from their last game at Doncaster to reach the Championship.

If the Brewers lose, the Saddlers could jump above them on goal difference if they win at Port Vale.

Doncaster and Blackpool would have been relegated had Fleetwood won at Bescot, but they live to fight another day.

As it stands, Brighton are up to second in the Championship and sit behind Middlesbrough on goal difference.

If it stays this way, Burnley will be able to clinch promotion with victory at home to QPR in the late kick-off.

There's not been a lot in the game, not a lot of tempo. Brighton are yet to really take their chances, Derby are yet to really show anything. It's been a measured approach, but I don't think either team will complain at the break.

And that's half-time at the Amex.

It's been a fairly even half, with Beram Kayal shooting wide and Anthony Knockaert impressing - and going close with a free-kick.

Derby have had their chances too, with Tom Ince shooting into the side-netting and Richard Keogh forcing a goal line clearance from a corner.

Another great corner delivery from Brighton and Lewis Dunk makes a nuisance of himself and the ball goes narrowly wide.

It's out for another corner but Brighton commit a foul this time in the box.

Brighton come forward again through Anthony Knockaert.

The hosts look to work an opening and the ball is spread to Jiri Skalak, who tries to cross but the ball is turned behind for a corner.

  8. Brighton 0-0 Derbypublished at 45 mins

David Stockdale punches away the corner and Kayla completes the clearance.

We'll have two minutes of stoppage time, mainly for that injury to Connor Goldson.

  9. Brighton 0-0 Derbypublished at 44 mins

Good covering from Beram Kayal to break up another Derby attack.

The Rams come forward and Tom Ince checks back before looking to find Chris Martin in the area.

Kayal is on hand to turn it behind for a corner.

It's a slow burner. This game will ignite at some stage, but I don't see Derby really going up through the gears. As the game progresses, such will be Brighton's need that they will open up and take a few chances, but I don't think they'll go for it too early.

Brighton centre-back Lewis Dunk goes into Robert Madley's book for a heavy aerial challenge on halfway.

He'll have to be careful for the rest of the game now.

Brighton fans know they need four points from two games to make it to the Premier League, but plenty of Boro fans are backing Derby today.

  13. Brighton 0-0 Derbypublished at 41 mins

Derby come forward again and another ball into the Brighton box finds Chris Martin.

This one catches the striker on the back foot though and he can't direct his header at goal.

Just that little bit of quality from Brighton is what we're missing. Lots of nice build-up play, but just that moment that can turn a game. There's no panic in the crowd though as I think they're used to patient football here.

  15. Brighton 0-0 Derbypublished at 39 mins

Brighton have to deal with a couple of threatening crosses into the box. The first from Johnny Russell is flicked away and the second is headed away by Bruno.

It's been frantic. Brighton have had the ball a lot but not done a lot with it.

Remember, a point today will temporarily lift Brighton up to second.

It would also mean third-placed Burnley would go top and secure promotion with a win over QPR later today.

And moments later, Derby come close to opening the scoring.

Johnny Russell's corner from the left is met by Richard Keogh and the defender manages to get an effort on goal.

Dale Stephens has to clear from just in front of his own goal line.

  19. CLOSE!published at 34 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Derby

Brighton work another passing move as Liam Rosenior finds Sam Baldock, who flicks the ball out to the left to Jiri Skalak.

His cross is met by Tomer Hemed, who glances it wide of the right-hand upright.

That was a good move by the hosts.

  20. Brighton 0-0 Derbypublished at 32 mins

The delivery is too long again from Tom Ince and Brighton look to counter.

Beram Kayal and Anthony Knockaert make good progress but Kayal eventually dithers and Derby smuggle the ball away.

Then Dale Stephens commits a foul on Will Hughes just inside the Albion half and gets a talking-to from the referee.
