There was a very jolly atmosphere about the first leg of this Europa League semi-final.

With their nickname and team colours inspired by iconic Liverpool band the Beatles, Villarreal certainly made a bid deal about Jurgen Klopp's side coming to town last week.

There was a parade through the streets and 'Yellow Submarine' was played as the teams walked out onto the pitch.

That jolly atmosphere turned to one of frustration for the travelling Liverpool fans when Adrian Lopez struck with the last kick of the match to give Villarreal a 1-0 advantage heading into tonight's second leg.

Avoiding defeat was very much top of the agenda for Klopp, but that late goal means they have no option but to go on the attack tonight.
