So Barnsley take a big step towards Wembley with a convincing win over Walsall - read the match report here.

That's it from me, but our next play-off game between AFC Wimbledon v Accrington is about to get under way on this mammoth Saturday of live football.

An end-to-end first half ended with Barnsley taking the lead on the stroke of half-time as Adam Hammill's shot was deflected into the net by Walsall defender Jason Demetriou.

Sam Winnall then struck twice in two minutes as the hosts surged into a 3-0 lead before the hour mark.

The Saddlers' best chance of the match, with the score at 0-0, was skewed wide by Tom Bradshaw, who will be required to help his side make history as Bescot on Thursday if they're to reach the League One play-off final at Wembley.

No team has ever pulled back a three-goal first-leg deficit to reach a play-off final.

Barnsley will take a well-deserved three goal lead into the second leg at Bescot on Thursday after Sam Winnall's double.

Have they already got one foot into the play-off final at Wembley on 29 May?

Barnsley have marshalled the last 20 or minutes of this match without too many alarms.

Walsall have undoubtedly been competitive in this match but haven't fired at all up front. 

It's been a bad day at the office for many of the Walsall players, not least Romaine Sawyers, who once again fails to control the ball and gives away possession.

There are going to be four minutes of added time at Oakwell.

Walsall are still pushing for a late goal. The away side will be looking for their own bit of luck in the final moments of this match.

There's a slight delay in play as a couple of Barnsley fans decide they would like a quick dash on the pitch.

They don't get very far and are booed loudly by the crowd. Nobody's impressed.

Jordan Cook replaces Walsall midfielder Milan Lalkovic while Barnsley bring on Harry Chapman for Lloyd Isgrove.

Can the visitors pick up a much needed goal in the final five minutes? It's not looking likely at the moment.

Surely with your team 3-0 up in a play-off semi-final, you'd want to sit down and enjoy the game?

Aidy White replaces Ashley Fletcher as Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom looks to close this game out without seeing his side concede.

With 15 minutes left of this game the Barnsley players seem to have taken their foot off the gas, perhaps with a thought to Thursday's second leg.

Walsall play the ball forward and Sam Mantom really should do better as he skews his shot high and wide despite being in acres of space in the box. 

Another wasted chance for the away side.

You get the feeling that if Walsall are going to score it's going to be through Milan Lalkovic.

Anthony Forde drives the ball into the box from the right and Lalkovic at full stretch just fails to reach the ball. Any sort of touch and it surely would have been a goal.

Walsall look to attack and Sam Mantom teases a cross into the box which is just headed wide by Tom Bradshaw.

The visitors will be hoping to take a goal back to Bescot on Thursday to keep this tie alive.
