    So, thanks for joining on the night that Derby almost, almost made Football League play-off history.

    The Rams needed to overturn a three-goal first-leg deficit and found two first half goals, to give them real hope of achieving the seemingly-impossible.

    But Hull held on after half-time to keep alive their dreams of an immediate return to the Premier League.

    "You have to pay credit to Derby who put up a hell of a show.

    "In the first half hour we couldn't get anywhere near them. Then we had to dig out and show a bit of resilience which has seen us through in the end.

    "But big compliments to Derby who were terrific on the night."
