So we now know one of the teams to be in the League One play-off final on Sunday, 29 May at Wembley.

Barnsley swept away Walsall 6-1 on aggregate to secure their second visit to the national stadium this campaign and you can read Ged Scott's report on just how they did it if you fancy.

You can also find out whether they'll face Millwall or Bradford tomorrow night with another live text on this very website.

    But for now, goodnight.

Barnsley caretaker boss Paul Heckingbottom tells Sky Sports: "We want normal build up for Wembley like for a Saturday week game. So our preperation will start on Tuesday, the next few days will just be getting the players right.

"I'll definitely be watching the Millwall v Bradford game. I watched the first game and the two teams showed their qualities but I don't expect Millwall (3-1 ahead) to have it all their way the second leg."

Barnsley caretaker manager Paul Heckingbottom on Sky Sports: "I thought we set off really well. We had a gameplan, we wanted to be dictating in the first 20 minutes.

"We couldn't take our foot off the gas and try to contain them, we know they're a good side.

"The lads are relaxed about what they've done, but I'll be telling them what they've achieved."

For Walsall, defeat means it's a 10th successive season in League One for the West Midlands side.

Will interim head coach Jon Whitney have done enough to get the job on a full-time basis, despite their play-off final defeat?

I love how understated Lloyd Isgrove is there. He thinks they were the better team over the two legs.

Let's be honest here, Lloyd, Walsall just couldn't handle your side at all. From the moment Jason Demetriou scored an own goal in the first leg, the Tykes haven't looked back.

Barnsley midfielder Lloyd Isgrove tells Sky Sports: "Over the two legs I think we were the better team. As you can hear from the fans they're delighted.

"We're going to go to Wembley with a lot of confidence from these two legs."

That's it. Barnsley are going to Wembley for the second time this season where they'll face Millwall or Bradford for a place in the Championship next season.

Will it end as well as it did earlier in the campaign for the Tykes?

The Barnsley fans are loving this.

We've got four minutes of injury time. Not that they care.

    SIX-ONE.

Lloyd Isgrove takes advantage of a poor Rico Henry backward header, beating the goalkeeper to the ball and plays in Josh Brownhill, who slots into an empty net under pressure from two Walsall defenders.

This has been quite a game.

    Offf! Pick that one out.

Walsall sub Jordan Cook finds some space on the edge of the area and curls a ripper into the top corner beyond Adam Davies.

Just another goal every minute or so, lads...

Tom Bradshaw now makes way for Anthony Forde for Walsall. Not that it matters a jot, mind.

This game means that in each Football League division, the team that missed out on automatic promotion on the final day of the season will (almost certainly) go out of the play-offs at the semi-final stage.

Brighton finished third in the Championship after a final-day draw at promoted Middlesbrough and lost to Sheffield Wednesday in the play-offs.

And Accrington lost last night against AFC Wimbledon in their League Two play-off semi-final, having missed out on promotion thanks to a draw against Stevenage.

Walsall led the League One table at Christmas and still had a chance of going up automatically on the final day of the regular season. But they now appear to be out of the running for promotion thanks to an absolutely superb two-legged display by Barnsley, a side who finished 10 points below them.

    Ged Scott
BBC Sport at the Banks's Stadium

"There are 1,496 here from Barnsley tonight in a disappointingly far-from-capacity crowd of 8,022. Less than a quarter of the gate, yet double the noise coming from the home end.

"Those Yorkshire voices had seemed to be getting louder with every passing minute. Now they have good reason. The Tykes's second goal makes it Game Over!

"The only response from the home fans to Ash Fletcher's strike is an ironic 'we'll see you here next year'!

"Not very likely. On this form, Barnsley will take some stopping on their second appearance of the season at Wembley."

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 74 mins

    Walsall 0-2 Barnsley (agg 0-5)

This is turning into a substitution live text as Adam Hammill, scorer of the first goal of the tie on Saturday and first goal tonight, comes off to be replaced by Harry Chapman.

That's all three scorers over the two legs off for Barnsley now. Saving their legs, I guess.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

    Walsall 0-2 Barnsley (agg 0-5)

Former Barnsley man Milan Lakovic now makes his way onto the field for Walsall in place of Jordy Hiwula. Maybe getting a goal against his old team will prove motivation enough despite these circumstances.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

    Walsall 0-2 Barnsley (agg 0-5)

Double change for Barnsley as they take off both their strikers Ashley Fletcher and Sam Winnall for Jak McCourt and Ivan Toney.

Both the outgoing duo have done their bit over the course of these two legs.

'It's just live watching Brazil' come the chants from the Barnsley fans. There's even one of them wearing the South American country's football shirt.

I wonder how Hulk would do on a cold Thursday night in Walsall?

    Game over.

Ashley Fletcher may have missed a couple of chances this match, but the on-loan Manchester United man makes no mistake this time.

Saturday's hero Sam Winnall swings and misses Adam Hammill's cross from the left, but Fletcher is behind him and finishes off so coolly.
